Ally, your BG was 27.5 and no action plan?

Ally, as suggested in your other threads, if you modify your diet (stop eating bread for example) your bg levels will improve. If you buy a meter and test your blood throughout the day, it will help you control your T2 and your symptoms of thirst and blurred vision will improve. The metformin you have been given only helps reduce bg a little. Lifestyle change is the key.

I agree. You know your diet needs changing and people on the forum have tried to help you. If you work on that, your high blood sugars will drop and your symptoms will improve. If you don't work on it your symptoms will get worse and your health will be at serious risk and you will end up on insulin. There is only one person that can help you, and that is you. Sorry to sound harsh, and I do wish you all the best on this journey.

This is going to sound doubly harsh but you really do need to lower your levels or the blurred vision in the future could result in blindness. That's the scariest thought for me and the reason why I put the cake down..: its just not worth it! Try looking at some low carb diets. I have cut out bread, pasta, potato, rice and cakes and I now find it rather easy to keep under control :) x

thank you for the replies
i,m glad you all were honest and i will have to change my diet
thank you again

You sound as if you have a touch of hyperglcaemia with BGs of 27 mmol/l. I have had similar readings and as I am on insulin and have to test my BGs regularly it usually means a sugar spike for example eating white bread or naughty stuff like bikkies etc and it will level of hours later if you eat proper.Constantly high BGs and HbA1c levels will definately make your vision blurred, headaches, tiredness (major symptom) and you will have a thirst you cannot quench and run to the loo to pee a lot too. I still suffer big time with hyperglycaemia and hope you find this helpful. Good luck
