Michael Gove and his insane educational? policies!
Took my bs 8.9 after eating homemade ratatouille plus small glass of rose. 30 mins later 10.1. Ratatouille has Brie on top and is melted in oven. Not ill. Bloods been bit high recently and not ill so can't see a logical reason why. Any ideas?

The rose? What grape was it? And how are you feeling? Historically, you have made statements about feeling rough over certain scores?

Was there a lot of tomato in it? Or tomato puree? I find that sends my BS up.

Saying that, 10.1 30 mins after eating is generally what I'm seeing these days (which is better than the 17 to 24 it used to be). It's back to between 5 and 8 by 2 hours after eating. Am I wrong to be OK with that?

Pinot Grigio. Not sweet. Last couple of weeks had 4 glasses of white instead of normal 2 as gone to friends fri and sat. 3 glasses this weekend. Could it be the alcohol?

After an hour 8.3. Bs high in morning too. 7.6.

In my experience, any difference alcohol might make is negligible, although I tend to stick with red wine, G&Slimline T, or the like. Although I had a rum and fruit based cocktail the other evening, I did dilute it with sparkling water. Although, to be fair, that was to make its deliciousness last longer. :angelic:

Am quite sensitive. If between 5-7.5 I'm fine. Anything below 4 or 8 and above not good. I've tested at a range of times so that I know what the norm is for me. Don't normally go above 7.5 even immediately after eating. If I'm ill I can rationalise it. If I eat brekkie too late the I have a liver dump which takes me to 7.5 so if I then have to eat brekkie, I feel rubbish as it goes to between 8 and 9. Just wondering about the carb content of all the green veggies. Surely it isn't much? I like to ask questions to help me work out what's going on - am naturally inquisitive!

If you use myfitnesspal, you can add recipes, from which mfp then calculates the nutritional data. I've found that excellent for some of our home made specials.........

Thank you. I love bouncing thoughts off you. Hope you don't mind. I'm probably a bit obsessive about it all but am just trying to get weight and bs down. At least then if I have to increase my meds or inject then I will know I've done everything possible to avoid doing that. My aunt just buried her head in the sand and has become so much worse. She has followed the recommended diet, has gone up in weight and now injects. I admire you for managing to get such good control of your bs!

Of course I don't mind questions/dialogue. It's what this site does best. As you know I'm pretty evangelical about remaining med-free.

Well, if it's any consolation I've had a day of slightly higher scores than I would routinely expect from known foods. The sore throat (that everyone here has at the moment) and sensitive ears are the clues, I think.

You see this is what I mean. You are clearly ill. Rational explanation. Higher scores when not ill panics me a bit. Hope you feel better soon. Good nightxxx

Hi on Sunday my bs ranged from 7.3 when I got up 6.0 at dinnertime (1pm) then at 2.15pm had a funny do don't know what happened hot and sweaty, bringing biale up (but not sick) and then run to toilet my blood just drained from my face but 1hr later was fine any ideas
