Not a newbie Diabetic by any means but new to this site.
First Diagnosed 2003
I had been sufferiing from micro sleeps for at least a year before that. Got really bad when coming back from a long journey and I woke up with a start after straying from the inside lane to the outside lane on a duel carrigaway. OOps. Pulled obver slapped my face to wake myself up and carried on. Bit of a shocker.

Since being on meds (Type 2) I have been great. Still get tired but no more needing matchsticks to prop open my eyes. The reason I am looking at this forum is that I am newly diagnosed with one of the Diabetes complications of Angina. I am waiting for an Angiogram which is due before the end of the month - scary!!

Hi GDR and welcome,

Looking forward to your posts. Anything you need help with then just shout, someone will answer.

Angiograms are painless and nothing to worry about. You can watch what is happening on the screen and you should get your results within a few hours, depending on how busy the ward is.

Ta, not really worried about angiogram, more worried about results, hoping for angioplasty (stent) rather than anything more drastic.
Its all a bit of a shock.

Hi all.
Ally1, hope you have managed to settle your readigs down a bit by now. The truble with type 2 diabetes appears to be that it sneaks up on you and you could have had it for years before its noticed. Looking back at my story I can see that I had it for at least three years befoe it was spotted. I had a health check done and sugar was found in my urine.
Well under control now, my reqadings every year are in the normal range and when I self check I very, very, rarely hit double figures.
