Had a busy day about at work then visiting old aunt with dementia.
Did 40 minutes on my bike after tea.

Can I just say that this is meant to be fun.
If you don't feel up to being active for a day or two please listen to your body and rest. That way you will be able to continue.
The other thing is I know we are aiming for 40 minutes but please if you are feeling below parr then just do what you can.

Sorry if that reads like a lecture I just want everyone to be safe.

10 mins to walk to docs and back! Hba1c down from 42 to 38 - doc happy!
Doc not happy about cholestrol!
Bad cholestrol gone from 4.5 to 6 but good at 1.3.
Cholestrol 7.3!
Agreed to retake statins till next hba1c to see if makes any difference.
If it doesn't then stopping!
Wants me to up protein and reduce fat. Shan't because how will I know if there was a reduction if it was the tablets or lowering of fat.
Concerned about how bad they are! :(
30 min walk to tescos express and back.

OK, having been in hospital all day, can I count the walk from the hospital to the car park and up the steps to the 3rd floor as 5 mins and then a walk round Tesco to get something easy for family's evening meal as another 5 mins please.?
yes you can!
It is not so long since I had to use the walking/staggering around the supermarket as my exercise. now look at what you have all got me doing! I am in a remote escape place of safety and seclusion, but managed to find a swimming pool yesterday. No matter that it is a round trip of 45 miles there and back, I got there and did my 40 mins+ of swimming and aqua exercising. today I have walked through fields and countryside. stayed out for two and a half hours. forgot to log how long I had little rests sitting on benches and walls, but even while I was resting I was foot tapping, arm lifting and doing chair exercise stuff. good thing I am in a remote place where nobody could see me, except for long suffering significant other, who is used to my unconventional ways. I estimate I was resting for less than half the time we were out, so claiming my exercise time.

Aw, Scandichic
see the positive here, well done on the HbA1c. Hopefully the cholesterol will settle too.

Well if you'd heard my daughter lecturing me today you would realise you're no good at lecturing.

My daughter says I'm obsessed with diabetes. :-(

Hmmmmm, and your obsession is making you as healthy as you can be, so stay obsessed.

So skiving again then. Bet you write your own absence note but with the other hand so no one recognises the writing - lol! Or was that just me :D
EHH!
you don't think I would ever miss a day at school do you? too much fun to be had ruling the school!

Managed a total of 60 minutes walking today to and from stations and getting off the tube a stop early. And with a 10kg backpack (laptop and papers) which was what I had to carry around without external luggage less than 3 months ago! At least I'm a lot fitter now.

I think Im obsessed with trying to control it because I feel soo much better.

@peacetrain
Just like all us regulars on this website! I know I am because I need to lose the weight and am still working on all the other aspects of diabetes. Look at the alternative! I think of my aunt and the woman on our reception who find all kind of excuses for relying on meds and not doing anything as we all know what will happen eventually and it's not nice! So carry on being obsessed - I know I am!

Did a 50 minute walk when I got up today. It was 50 mins because that's how long my usual 40 min walk took me today. The doctor yesterday said I should walk slowly up any slopes, so I did....he was right - walking uphill really hurt my chest muscles .

Can I just say that this is meant to be fun.

I can only answer this for me........having spent so many years unable to do much because of depression, I have had to learn to push myself or I would not have achieved anything at all. I thought this was what was happening again, because I felt the same as I used to, I just didn't recognize that maybe it was a virus this time. So I have had to overrule what my body was telling me for years and did it again this time. 'Sporty for forty' never stopped being fun though.

Morning Connie, I would quite like to be in Spain right now! Yesterday was a brilliant day for me because I know my heart is fine , so I'm really glad that all happened because I don't have to worry every time I get pains there .

..hi to all, you're early birds this morning!

@Scandichic, hope your cholesterol settles down, I've only ever been told the overall result, will make sure I ask for the good and the bad next time. @Pipp, make sure you have some R and R as well as exercise on your holiday and @zand, pleased you're getting back on track..

....I was going to walk to Hythe yesterday via the seafront as I had a half day, its about 4 miles, and get the bus back but in the end walked halfway there and back instead, same distance! Soo hot, all I could think about was a huge iced drink on the way back....was it alcoholic, I'm not saying...;)
