Hi Heathenlass, thanks for your post. I am ok. Went to see GP yesterday and she checked my BP, which was normal. She requested blood tests and did an ECG. Thankfully, that was normal too. So, just waiting to see what the blood tests say. She thinks I may be anaemic! Will hopefully get the results by Tuesday. Still feeling dizzy and my BG levels are a little all over the place! Just having an easy weekend. The GP did say if I got any worse over the weekend to call the NHS helpline. Will let you know when I find out about the blood results.

I'm glad you are ok -ish! It sounds like the doc is leaving no stone unturned, and that's good :) It's not long until your pump clinic appoinment either is it ?
I hope you have a good, relaxed week end and feel better for it :)

Thanks Heathenlass, I really appreciate your concern. My pump clinic appointment is in 11 days time, so not long to go. My BG levels were 12.9 this morning, so that freaked me out a bit! Can't understand why so high! I did miss my run on Friday too, which I really didn't want to miss, but it had to be done. Will try it tomorrow though, see how it goes. Can't wait to get these results to find out what's going on. :( Hope you are doing okay.

Had a call from my GP this morning to tell me that the ECG I had done last Friday is showing as abnormal, and yet I was told last Friday by another GP that it was a normal reading! Confused.com! So, I had to see the GP again today to discuss this as well as being told that my potassium levels are low and need to be redone to check they aren't getting lower. The GP has also requested another blood test for blood lipids and has sent my ECG result to a specialist to discuss further. Apart from that the GP is puzzled as to why I am experiencing dizziness and tiredness. All my other vitals were normal. So, tomorrow for another blood test and back to see GP on Friday to discuss findings! The saga continues. Still feeling rough and having periodic raised BG levels, but some normal too! Just don't know what is going on inside this body right now! :hungover:

Argh! So sorry to hear that :( It's a bummer to come away reassured over the ECG then be called back and told otherwise . It's all a bit odd :(

Are you still feeling dizzy ?

I am so confused over the whole thing. I was expecting to be told that I was anaemic, not to be told that my ECG is abnormal! The GP I saw yesterday was a different one to who I saw last week and not my usual GP either. He was quite blasé about the whole thing and really didn't know what to do about the dizziness, which I do still have. I feel like I am on a roller coaster going backwards! It's a very strange feeling, not experienced it before. Will just have to wait until Friday and see what he says then! I hope it clears itself as I am going on holiday in two weeks for the whole 6 weeks school summer break and don't want to be feeling unwell on holiday! I did ask the GP whether the symptoms could be as a result of my rapid weight loss over the last 3 months and the fact that I don't eat much. His reply was "well, it could just be your body getting used to these changes"!!! Only time will tell...the saga continues...

Ok, I'm dredging my memory here from nursing - I seem to recall that if you are anaemic, it can show an anomaly on your ECG. Much of what you describe does fit in with anaemia, and it's a possibility with your weight loss and diet changes too ...

It may be something as simple as anaemia or vitamin deficiency - did or will your blood tests include B12 ?

I'm pretty sure it will be something simple and easily fixable, so do try to not get too stressed about it, not easy, I know, with your holidays looming ! Where are you off to ? :)

I thought so too, but the GP I saw on Monday said my iron levels were fine, my red blood cells were normal size, so no B12 deficiency. He retested my potassium levels yesterday as well as blood tests for lipids! Have to wait until Friday to get results and discuss ECG further. Still feeling rough with the dizziness not letting up...so taking it easy this week, no exercising :(, no running :(just relaxing!!

I'm off to Bognor Regis Butlins for the first week of the holidays, then i am back for 1 day and then fly out to Boston for three and a half weeks. I have a school friend who lives out there and I've not been over in 4 years. Then when i get back from there, I am home for 2 days then I go down to London to see my father in law! So very busy summer, then it's back to school for the little one once back from London! :) Will let you know how Friday goes...then next Thursday it's my diabetes follow up at the pump clinic...I never seem to be away from the medical profession at the minute!

Good luck for tomorrow, GL ! I hope you are feeling a little better, or rather, a lot better!

You have one heck of a schedule ahead ! Do mention this tomorrow when you see the doc so that maybe any further tests and treatment can be speeded up . Let us know how you get on . And yeah, sometimes, we seem to only see the HCP's at regular intervals for routine "stuff", then it's one appointment after another :banghead:

Thanks Heathenlass. Well, I went to see the GP again today to review my ECG and blood tests. Good news...ECG has been looked at by specialist and they advise it's normal. :hilarious: Also, blood results show potassium level is within normal range and that my lipids are within normal range too! :joyful:So, nothing really going on. Still have dizziness and nausea but GP was at a loss as to why. Also, have developed a rash on my back which is burning and very itchy, so GP took a look and said there's some allergy going on there, but did not suggest anything for it. In fact, he never mentioned it again as he started talking about other things. So really no further forward. Will just have to put up and shut up. I might mention it to my Endo when I see him next week to check it's not diabetes related! So for now I just continue feeling ****! Just great! :grumpy:

Feeling I can never eat anything sweet again or anything with carbs. But thought of diabetes complications scares me more so it is a no brainer!
I am not T1 but had the same thing earlier in the year. Same story with the ECG and low potassium. And high readings and dizziness. Finally sorted itself and was told it was a virus (catch all when they have no idea!) and that my heart was fine and was simply working harder to deal with the virus. Apparently electrical signals were a bit out of sync and was misfiring. Took 4 weeks but it sorted itself out.

Pasta, sorry to me it's vile, yeuch lol (and full of nasty carbs)
Geordielass, my HbA1c's are scandalous to say the least and high sugars will zap your energy and lower your mood for def. It's a vicious cycle and hope you get to the bottom of it. Take care and good luck !

Hiya GL,
I've been mega busy so only just read your post, are you feeling any better since Friday ? Well, it's good news that the ECG and bloods are normal !
That rash though, is it anything like shingles ? As @paulins has said, if it's a virus that would explain the whole shebang, high bloods, dizziness etc?

Thanks Paulins. Hopefully this is just a blip and will resolve itself too. Thanks for your post.

Hi Heathenlass. Thanks for your post. I thought about shingles but the GP didn't seem to link the two together. He said it was more of an allergic reaction to something. I was thinking about maybe being tested for Celiac, but will mention it to my Endo on Thursday. I've never had skin problems ever, but the GP had no idea about what it could be! Feeling a lot better than I was. Dizziness subsided a little but nausea still hanging around! Still trying to get these BG levels down. 9.7 this morning! :banghead: How's yours doing with the change in insulin?
