Teens are worse. They should leave home at 12
Finally they're in bed but I'm as wired as hell! And summer holidays are just around the corner...

When I was a high school teacher we used to send them home at 3:30pm because we'd had enough of them as well ;)

That's why I'm so hot on school attendance - get them away from me!!

Mine is 20 now but he still drives me mad. He's talked non stop since he could open his gob ; first it was Pum Pum Pat endlessly, then dinosaurs , then Warhammer; then history and now it's anarcho- communist rants and gender politics. Some days I'm not sure whether I've put the cat in the oven and out the dinner outside as my head is spinning. No wonder my BP is erratic.

lol - Now you see, I am calm and serene...my 27 year old is away on holiday (he doesn't live with us anyway) and my 24 year old is away working until Thursday. I really don't know what you are all complaining about! I've even opened the windows to get some fresh air into the pit of doom. How did I achieve all this ? I got up at 2.45 am to pick up son and girlfriend and take them to the airport (150 miles round trip) then got back in time to help younger son pack to go away to work and take him to the station. Why did I do this?...just think how awful it would be if they had missed their flight/train! It was worth it. Result. :)

@jack. My two are nearly 5 and 6 so grand kids are a bit far off I hope!

Thanks to all of you for doing such a great job at making me feel better!!

Enjoy the calm between the terrible 2s and puberty Deb

Mine is 30 and I'm not sure he ever grew out of the terrible twos (sorry to put a damper on your day). At last he's back in his own house after a stint renting it out as he was in the Army and moving here there and everywhere, but at least I don't have to worry about him going away but I'm sure I'll find something else to worry about. As for grandchildren I've given up asking !

On second thoughts, my two cats are worse than kids. Brother and sister about 4 yrs old and Daisy has just gone up to Alfie having a drink out of a bowl in the garden and swiped him round the ear! Next thing, he will chase her in, they'll thunder up the stairs like a herd of elephants, she will hide under my dressing table swearing and spitting at him while he tries to get at her.

They may do your head in from time-to-time but you love them all the same, jjust remember we were once kids ourselves ;)

I love them really but sometimes I'd just like to have my personal space again. Oh and be able to do crafty projects without constant pestering and fingers pointing and smudging the paint.

And one minute it's world war three, then the next they're the best of friends for all of 30 seconds then we're off again....

I think I'll run away with the cat. He's the best behaved :)

I know I have a warped sense of humour but this might make you laugh......
