Hi, I am Shaun Marsh, I want to know about type 2 diabetes prevention, causes and symptoms. Can anybody help me tell about type 2 diabetes because i think i am suffering from it. I don't know any think about type 2 diabetes so please tell me.

the symptoms are frequent urine, thirsty, fatigue. but for some there are no symptoms. therefore a blood test is very crucial. you will need initial medication. if you are true type 2. you might wants to try the newcastle diet(not without the withdrawal symptoms). you can place your bet on a possible reversal or you bet on taking medication, hoping they do not take a troll on your organs.

there are a lot of argument among different people on control, reversal or cure , but its really up to you.

HI, Welcome :)

You should see your doctor if you are worried, he can do a simple test to tell if you are indeed a diabetic, the symptoms are many, varied or none so it may be worth a visit to the doc, best of luck

A fasting blood test will confirm. As Andy said, go to the docs. If you are diabetic, then it's important to get on top of it! Good luck!

Shaun
what makes you think you have diabetes?

I'm never sure what people mean by a fasting glucose test. I never had one. Just the HbA1c. They did two of them a couple of weeks apart to confirm diagnosis.

The surgery were a long time giving me results because receptionist couldn't provide information until the doctor had looked at them. I was a little impatient so I went to the tesco pharmacy and they did a test free of charge. It measured 15. If you don't want to bother the doctor straight away just go to tesco. I would say make sure you haven't eaten anything for at least 3 hours.

When you have an hba1c it is to measure your average over 3 months as red cells only survive for 3 months, a fasting blood glucose test is done first thing in the morning and you shouldn't eat or drink anything until the test is done.it indicates whether someone is diabetic. You must not eat anything for at least 8 hours before the test.

Oh right. Thanks. I was never asked to have one of those. They just did the HbA1c.
