right I have been thinking about this all day but I cant decide if im right I have just had my hba1c result which was 48 down from 83 but my daily averages are going up day by day im on 1500mg metformin everyday what I have been thinking about is would insulin be better. recently I have had countless night time trips to the loo and drinking more than ever im tired all the time and waking up sweating in the middle of the night can anyone help as seeing dn nurse tomorrow

Diet and exercise
Lchf and 3 half hour brisk walks a week
You are a long way off insulin. Next will be another oral med

im on my feet all day and have tendonitis in my left foot I also do zumba once a week which is all the exercise im allowed to do at present and my diet is fine as checked it with dn

I've just gone on victoza because the insulin was making me put weight on Despite trying to keep it down. First dose last night and my fasting, lunch and tea reading have been in the low 7's, and reduced my long acting from 24 to 19units, and had only 5 units of short acting all day.

I'd ask about other options first before insulin, I didn't know about other injectable alternatives instead of insulin. Touch wood I've only had 1 tiny 20 second spell of nausea.

my readings are all over the place this morning it was in the 9.1 last night was over 10 I had a salad with just lettuce tomato and cucumber with cooked chicken and I hit a 12 it was coming down nicely 5 first thing in the morning and around 6-7 during the day im not sure what is going on or what to do I cant lose weight no matter what I do and im fed up feeling like this

... my diet is fine as checked it with dn

If I ate what my DN and dietician approved of then no doubt I'd need medication. Instead I follow a moderate carb, moderate fat diet and control my diabetes that way combined with daily exercise. Your DN will be following the NICE guidelines which are not necessarily the best advice around.
