non diabetic readings

Hi my niece was tested this morning and her blood sugar was 8.0 she had not eaten From teatime yesterday is this normal for a non diabetic?? ..I have been a diabetic 26 years she has said she is drinking more than usual and really moody tho she is 18 ...any help would be appreciated thanks laura

Hi,
The reading is a bit high, but a once off reading is not very accurate
Have a look at the following site, it answers many questions on Blood Sugar, if still uncertain think of having her tested ?

Thanks for your help will get her to do further testing and get an appointment with her doctor
