I would take the tablets mid meal
I would make sure I'm on slow release

I found metformin took 3 weeks to kick in on BG

Hi,
Thanks. I saw the doctor Wednesday and she increased me to 2. I am seeing her next Wednesday and she said if necessary we will adjust the dose. I am tracking my readings and tracking food in order to try and figure out what works best for me..

sorry I misunderstood,, I thought you were already on 2 and were going to 4., you didn't say if you were on the slow release metformin, it is gentler on the stomach.
most people have some gut problems for a week when taking a new dose of metformin. it should settle down and is worth hanging in there.
