Dsn has replied and suggested trying 10 am 18 pm. She has suggested possibly trying levemier if I still struggle. Any thoughts?
Well not really, that depends what your BG was before eating, and what you ate. On a normal diet most people (who would be on that diet) would say 8 mmol/L +2 hours is pretty acceptable. Can I just ask. If my bgs are 8 two hours after eating and I didnt take any fast acting its clear my basal is too high. Which lantus woild I decrease? Taking 12 units 9 am 18 units 9 pm. Tried ringing diabetes nurses no reply as of yet. Thanks.
It might have the advantage that the two injections will overlap with each other. So if you need more basal for one half of the day and less for the other, Levemir might help. But it is a totally personal thing - some people *need* the overlaps to create a "shape" that best matches their basal needs over the 24 hrs.Dsn has replied and suggested trying 10 am 18 pm.
