checked bg last night before
tea it was 5.7
two hours later it was at 7.00

It takes a while to adjust to LCHF. I reckon if you give it a view days it will come down, Good luck!
 
Hi there. I'm just 4 weeks in and feel fantastic. I've lost 12lbs too....all previous carb cravings have gone and I'm getting much better bs readings...I've got mental clarity and I'm so so glad to have started this way of eating...I'm lucky I didn't get the carb flu everyone talks about. Remember to drink lots and lots of water. I didn't to start with until people on here told me why its so important. I then slipped into ketosis and with testing I've found I can eat approx 40g of carbohydrate a day and still stay in ketosis..losing weight and never hungry. Its brilliant. Good luck

Ok, tell me more about the ketosis thing. All I know is my mouth constantly tastes like metal and they say that is a sign of ketosis Should I get strips and test?

Those are good results after only 2 days. You kept your spike down to only 1.3mmol/l and 7 is good at 2 hours. Carry on and your before meal reading will come down and therefore your post meal reading will follow.

Some people do apparently get metallic taste in your mouth. I used the strips initially to guide me. But after awhile you really don't need them..you can "feel" it. More energy. Appetite decreases. Carb cravings disappear and you just feel different. Its hard to describe...you also lose weight
