I am concerned that I am losing feeling in my legs and feet. I am keeping my blood sugars as low as possible (Averaging below 7.0) and am walking as much as possible. Does anyone know of any other action that I can take to reduce this worrying symptom, please ?

No experience of the condition, but will 'bump' your thread up the forum in the hope that others might reply. Welcome to the forum btw.

Hi.

You are already doing one of the best things and that is maintaining good blood sugar level control. Neuropathy is made worse and progresses quicker with poor control.

It unfortunately doesn't help to reverse the neuropathy but good control should help to stop it progressing as quickly.

I know it is scary when you start losing sensation and feeling but the main thing is to get into a habit of checking your feet regularly to check for any changes. And also checking shoes to make sure there is nothing inside or pins stuck in soles etc.

If we all get in a regular habit of doing this now even when still have sensations then you are more aware of your feel and will notice any changes or problems sooner.

Not sure if this helps but hopefully it does a little

Hi Janine.

Many thanks for that - My father died of diabetes type II at 84, 2 years ago and had sugar in everything !!! He experienced no problems whatsoever. I just wondered if you know from personal experience ?

Thanks again

Roger

Hi Roger.

I'm a podiatrist so although personally I am lucky to not have neuropathy at present, I do treat patients on a regular basis with neuropathy.

I have watched this video a week ago. about baking soda
I had neuropathy in both feet , so I gave it a try and guess what, after the third day the tingling , pins and needles in my feet has disappeared. I will keep on doing this and will see if this will cure it for good.

The ingredients will raise blood pressure and blood sugars.
