Anonymous Question Numbness, Pins & Needles

Anonymous question submitted:

I have been having pins & needles for the past 3 weeks. I have had diabetes for 12 years Type 1. My hand is numb as well. What medicine can be taken for this and will it be permanent? I am still waiting for an appt at my diabetic clinic!!

I have had Diabetes for 23 years (MODY) recently i started to geta lot of numbness and pins and needles. However i have been to my Osteopath and after some manipulation this has reduced as i had nerves getting pinched/blood flow hampered etc. Whilst he did advise that i have underlying neuropothy (don't think i've spelt that right!) it has significantly improved it. i'm not suggesting it's the same thing but whilst waiting for an appointment it might be worth seeing an Osteopath in the mean time in. It also won't interfere with any medication or mean taking additional!
