Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

7.4 again this morning. After a week of waking in the 6s I hate being in the 7s. I am eating relatively the same stuff. Protein for dinner, last night chicken skewers and later in the evening berries and cream. Any suggestions would be helpful.

It could be you are coming down with something, or maybe some underlying stress? Or maybe the berries and cream for supper ..... what about having them straight after your dinner?

What the. %*#$&@!! 6.2 the morning..... Then a 4.9 mid- afternoon, and then a 5.3 one hour after dinner tonight. Just no rhyme or reason some mornings. Oh well it is what it is.

Fall is near, the geese are all gathering for their migration south. Pictures are from the local retention pond near my house.

5.9 for me this morning the highest fasting level to date. Not entirely surprised give the reduction in medication. Will just have further fine tune eating habits.

I was 5.3 this morning and pre dinner, 5.8.

Had my nutritionist "debate" and she ended up asking ME about this website :) Can you believe that?

A lot of waffle from her for two minutes so I sat HER down and educated her about LCHF diet and my fervent desire to get on top of this issue.

Cut it short, she could not believe the info I had and how I beat her to answers I already had

over the last week i have noticed it rise 8.9 this am and had nothing to eat last eve ...sighs

Decided to go see the diabetic nurse today and ask her her advice

5.4 this morning......better than feared after less than 3 hours "sleep" due to my 15 year old daughter being very unwell in the night, had to ring 111 and then 999 and had paramedics here at 2.30am, needed a double gp appointment making today for her and was waiting until 8am to call but just took a chance online (normally all get taken after 6.30pm the previous evening), got one later this evening. Going to be a long day......

I am currently reading The Diabetes Miracle, I believe I read that the liver releases stored Glucose into the blood after five hours of fasting or there about. ........not eating last night may have contributed to your reading.

All the best with your appointment.

smiles and thank you for your post I need read about this liver dump ....why is the body so complicated to understand

Hi Patsy

Do you take any other counts other than morning fasting levels.

If so what have your counts before and after meals been like.

Any rising pattern in these?

Have you been able to keep after meal counts within 2 mmol of corresponding before meal counts.

Any changes in diet?

What's a typical day's diet like?

Sorry about the avalanche of questions!

All the best with your visit.

Pavlos
