I have had T2 for at least 15 years and been given metformin, gliclacide and Januvia in increasing quantities since then. Recently after a eye check and a HBA1c result I was advised by my Diabetic nurse that I needed to go onto insulin. Not happy with this I went onto the forum to get some help. I found information on not eating porridge for breakfast and going on a low carb diet this I tried and my blood sugar levels have shown a remarkable drop from 15 down to 5. Thanks to the forum

Brilliant bluebottle, keep it up and stay posting on here! :)

That's excellent Rod gives me a great deal of encouragement I hope I soon will be able to reduce my medication. What I cant understand though is why my Diabetic nurse never mention the problems with porridge and going on a low carb diet many years ago . If she had I would not have suffered all these years. My HbA1c before going on the diet was 61 but my cholesterol was only 3.6

Hi, welcome and congratulations!

The only liquid artificial sweetener I know of is stevia. It comes in liquid form and a white powder form.

I find it has a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but others love it, so I think it is really a matter of taste.

It seems v expensive, in liquid form, but since you only use a drop at a time, it actually works out economical.
