I'm struggling to be positive today. I reduced my basal due to overnight hypos, night time is fixed but now I can't get my sugars down now during day and evening! :-(

Should I take the remaining basal in the morning do you think? Or up my bolus due to less basal?

I'm feeling pretty megh about it all today :arghh:

What time do you take your Lantus? If it's evening you could try changing to morning. Or you could try splitting the dose and taking a bit more in the morning and a bit less in the evening.

Notice your on lantus, some people find that it doesn't last 24 hours so have to split-dose much like people do on levemir, you could try switching the timing of the single dose to a morning and see if this help, otherwise try split-dosing and take one dose in the morning and the other in the evening, if your unsure how to do a basal check have a read of the following:

Emmotha, I changed my lantus to twice daily because it didn't last 24 hours, and have a much better basal level now. You've got the libre so you would have a simple way of monitoring this too.

Thanks everyone. I'll take the lower dose tonight and take the rest 12 hours later and see what happens.
Also going to cut my carbs right back too to try to avoid the highs :bored:

I dont know why, but when i take Lantus ( like 14-16 ) before sleeping, i feel soooo tired! I'll try to split it tomorrow, then i will let you know.

I know it seems boring but I've just started having the odd meal with no carbs in. It's amazing honestly... I would almost go as far as saying it's like being cured for a temporary period ! My readings just sat at 6.0 and didn't move all night !
Worth a go even if it's just for the odd night

I've been having the same problem. It's really annoying isn't it!
I've split my levemir and it's helped if not entirely fixed the problem.
Hope you've had some success.
