Can any type 1's share their knowledge / personal experiences with alcohol ?
You hear a real mixture of information surrounding it all !
My understanding and personal experience is alcohol does not make you 'go low' when consuming it as its a sugary (most are) based drink so 2 pints of lager will push blood sugar up when consuming. I Understand that that the liver stores glycogen which acts as a natural reserve of glucose and can spert out when facing severe hypoglycaemia. If the liver is busy working to rid alcohol then it may not kick in trough the night and save you if you have a night hypo.
Apart from the above is there any other reason why you could have problems during consumption, during the night, or the following day.
As I said the info above is my understanding - might not be 100 percent accurate ?!
