My partner is diabetic. He thinks he has food poisoning or a gastric bug. He hasn't eaten or taken his medication since this morning also he cannot keep fluids down. He said he will be ok in a few hours but I am concerned. I just checked his blood sugars and they are currently 8.9. What should I do? He will not let me phone a doctor as he said he will be ok.

If he is on metformin, then he should definitely I really tried not to lecture. Stop taking it until he is back to normal. Especially with gastrointestinal upset, fever or any chance of dehydration.
