PARTY TIME!!!

Just rung the surgery for my blood results.

Lipids all improved, again!
A1c coming down

HbA1c 43 (6.1%) down from 45 (6.3%) in September
Total cholesterol 5.5 (Sept was 5.3)
HDL 2.2 (Sept was 1.8)
LDL 3.0 (Sept was 3.2)
Trigs 0.58 (Sept was 0.6)
TC/HDL ratio 2.5 (Sept was 2.94)
Trigs/HDL ratio 0.19 (Sept was 0.33)

I am delighted, especially the lipids considering the amount of cheese have been eating to stop losing weight.
THANK YOU all for your friendship and support. I couldn't have done it without you. :)

Thank you but it's you who have done the hard work. So pleased for you :)

Interesting one this morning. I had a very naughty meal in my local Little Chef last night (Hunter's chicken + chips etc.). 2 hour pp was 8.9 so I then took myself onto the treadmill for 45 mins of hard walking before I went to bed.
Fasting this morning back to 4.9 so I think there's a lesson there on how to cope with naughtiness !
Welcome to the madhouse, Erm, I mean thread/forum ;)

Thanks @Rose28. I'll look into it. I DO like ginger, bought some ginger root (instead of crystalised)last week to use in baking but only got the flours today - soya & quinoa - didn't think the taste would go wth coconut one

I LOVE ginger and have it daily. I add root ginger it into every green smoothie and green juice, add loads when making a curry, have you tried making ginger tea? :hungry: IMHO ginger goes well with coconut too!

Happy Baking  Let me know how you get on with it?

Hi,
Mine stuck for about a week and went up a lb or 2, cut down on the Red Wine a little, lost 2 then followed with another 1 the following day.

I'm sure yours will start to move again.
Neil
Thanks Neil, hope so. Think is wth trying to lower carbs am having higher fat snacks and possibly carbs not low enuf in comparison

I do have ginger tea in but not used for a while as I used to sweeten wth honey. Don't like sweeteners - they leave an aftertaste :-(.

I will let you know about the baking. Mayb ginger will go wth honey ;) Erm coconut I meant to say ;-)

Fasting this morning back to 4.9 so I think there's a lesson there on how to cope with naughtiness !

Or you could say "How to be naughty and still get off Scott free" its a very attractive proposal especially for those of us with a diminishing spectrum of naughtiness possibilities.

Hope you are soon feeling better. I came to bed before 10 and it's now 1am and still can't sleep :-( bunions, calves and hands aching despite painkillers so I got up, chunk of cheese and some yoghurt despite fancying toast and butter too. Pain gel on all achy bits, cup of tea (soya milk) and I'm all set to try again.
Take care, get well soon and hopefully some zzzz's for both of us. Nite, Jan
Thanks jan, I resisted the toast, had one of tHose rehydration drinks in stead and watched some mindless tv. I ended up going to bed around 2.30pm and woke up at 6pm with a fasting bs of 5.6 wow lol. Lowest its been in months. I hope you managed to get some rest too.

This has started to be good day for me......

5.0 Bedtime 1 point lower than usual:hilarious:

4.8 Fasting Pre breakfast :p again lower than usual

Hit a magical 14st 4lbs today that's an even 200lbs. When diagnosed 22 Sept 14. I was 15st 8lbs (lost a stone the previous year with Pre Diabetes) probably will hover around this for a while but very pleased, about 2lbs per week so far. LC moderate Fat, a lot more than I ever used to have.

Thanks for the inspiration on here.............
Daddys1,

Congrats on weight loss and indeed BG levels.

We are of a similar age on a similar journey, my weight on diagnosis 15st,weight as of this morning 11st 13lbs.

Thought I would mention that certainly for me initial weight loss was roughly 2 lbs per week for the 1st 5 months on a 1200 cal LCHF way of eating. In early November weight loss stopped still same cals & LCHF but actually put on a few pounds.

Persevered and now it's going down again but at a slower rate of 1lb per week.

I think thinks it's just my bodies reaction to what it saw as starvation, I certainly have hardly once felt hungry on LCHF.

Perhaps you will continue @ 2lbs per week but thought I would let you know that it might slow.

Once again congrats and keep to it.

All the very best.
