Do you do any exercise before breakfast rather than after? Just another thought......

Hi Jan

Thanks for the tip but I hate nuts .....

As for exercise, yes but it intermittent. This morning for example, i did 15 minutes walking before the one hour reading. and only a 1.4 rise from 5.7 to 7.1

Day B4 yesterday (same brekkie). it was 5.6 to 7.9 with no exercise. So that's 2.3 rise against 1.4.

Mike :)

My thinking was any exercise pre breakfast may cause your liver to dump glucose and if your breakfast is low carb could also do the same after? Whereas exercise after a more carby breakfast would help reduce b.s.. hope this makes sense?

Last nite B4 dinner I was a surprising 7.8 ... no idea why ... so I set off on a long walk (40 minutes), came back, tested and back to 5.7

Exercise definitely drops me

Thanks Mike :)

BACK FROM THE DOCTORS......oops sorry for yelling, but a little excited.

3 months ago when diagnosed I was 17.9, my 3 month is 6.7. I am happy with that and the doctor was really happy. My urine test was fine, my iron normal and according to my doctor my cholesterol excellent.

Last week when he ordered the bloods he gave me the balanced diet, eat carbs lecture, this week he said, whatever you are doing diet wise keep it up because it is working!

Now need to work on bringing it down some more.........happy feet!!!!:D

What was your first Mike. You are doing well you will be alright!

OK.

My total cholesterol in June was 7.3 ... Sept I halved it to 3.6
My triglycerides in June was 3.0. ... Sept I cut that back by 2/3rds to 1.0
My chol/hdl in June was 4.9. Sept was 2.4

My HBA1C was 8.8 and my HBA1C was 73 in June
In Sept, it was 6.5 and 48 respectively

Doc seemed to think that was amazing ... I just follow his orders, those of my wife and the grand people on this board I happen to love communicating with.

Someone else can interpret those figures but I'm praying for an improvement come next week :)

It will drop you if you are high to start with but if you are low to start with them exercise will initially cause you to drop but then this will precipitate s liver dump and you may end up higher than you started.

Simply bizarre isn't it?

From that initial walk and re test, my figures all nite and today have been good. :)

That's amazing you have lowered your hbA1c from 17,9% to 6,7% in three months! To put it in context that is a drop in you average glucose readings from 25,8 mmol to 8,1 mmol!

I am not in the least surprised your doctor was impressed.

Very well done. This is inspirational!

As your doctor said, keep doing what your doing and I am sure it will be under 6% next time round!
