Simple walking is the key

I try to do 2 miles or 40 mins brisk walk every day...with these two..the ginger one is lady...our Nova Scotian Duck tolling retriever crossed with a collie, and Peppa our show cocker ..they're our babies ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1418559899.432826.jpg I find walking helps with many aspects of the condition.
 
I don't get much benefit from exercise either - I've always been pretty active and take the dogs for about 2 x 3 mile walks a day in the woods (one of them is a Border Collie which helps make sure we take them regularly!) and it never brings my BG down at all. I also play 5 a side once a week which causes massive spikes but it's the only spike I get now I'm tightly controlling my diet and I enjoy it too much to stop :)
 
Walking is a key part of my diabetic routine with regular 5km walks first thing in the morning . I believe it not only lowers my levels immediately but also actually helps me keep lower levels for the rest of the day; something to do with enzymes released during exercise.

It is also a wonderful way to lower stress, which also leads to improved glycemic control,

lol you call it interesting - I call it annoying! :)

edit: I think it did work for me while I was taking metformin. Weight loss was easier then too.

All depends which side of that 20 per cent boundary you fall, does it not.

Actually since reducing my metformin I find that I can no longer exercise before breakfast without triggering a liver damp and causing a rise in my levels. They do fall back quite quickly afterwards to my normal post prandial post breakfast ; probably the liver using glucose to replenish glycogen supplies
 
Yes that makes sense pavlos. I think my liver is far too good at churning out glucose!
