Thanks. I've had MS for 20 years now and tried many types of medication..I respond best of all to high 5 day course of steriods when I have a bad relaspe..its a pain but not as bad as it was when I was a young mum...I rest up when I need to now.
And nobody invited Diabetes to the party!! Lol
Glad you've got a "plan B" for when things get bad :-). Hope you're as fighting fit as you can get by Xmas. Got my bedroom to clean now while my fibromyalgia let's me - at my pace, and only one at once.... ;-)

Only way, isn't it? I cleaned my kitchen windows last week and then knew about it for rest of week. I had hoped the fibromyalgia would improve with the Cbt for my anxiety as my old GP basically said it's a mental disease(!) but it hasn't. Hey ho.

Its hard sometimes to pace ourselves isn't it? Esp at this busy time of year. Luckily my son is a great cook so he is taking over Xmas lunch turkey with all the trimmings and he is fantastic with vegetable dishes which will all be cheffy lol....we are having all the family and children to stay this year 14 of us....so I've been doing a bedroom a day v v slowly...wishing you a painfree Xmas as well :)

Yes, I am used to doing the numbers but I was hoping for some pay back for my efforts to get well again.

Have patience. It has taken me since April to cope with a roast dinner, and I have tried one every Sunday! Just about managed it if I dribble the gravy!

Certainly is. Out of date GP.... to be polite!! More an autoimmune related disease. Have you ever been on fibromyalgia.co.UK website? I have, but not joined in forums much

I've been extremely happy to read in nursing magazine that fibromyalgia is at long last being recognised for the serious illness it is..far too long its been lumped in with "syndromes". It causes an immense amout of suffering and at last money is available for intense research..one of my friends has it and at times she is so poorly she is bed bound...

Used to look at forums but never posted. Mine is correlated with periods of anxiety but last major flare actually precipitated the anxiety as I was convinced I had MS as I was dragging my right leg so badly. I was tested for lupus when pregnant and have a family history of it ( my result was equivocal) so I do wonder if it isn't all auto immune driven at to it cause.

Ah, understand.

I may have forgotten to mentioned I had 50g of dark (50% cocoa solids) chocolate after supper :) So I had decided to throttle back the diet at the weekend but I will do another strict four days, I then see the DN on Friday morning although not expecting any blood tests. I will then relax a bit for Christmas and see how things go. I'm the cook in the household, by the way!

I am a little dubious about my meter readings as I have great difficulty in getting decent size blood droplets and had to do the morning one today twice because the blood didn't entirely cover the normal area on the strip (that was a 7) and the second test was 6.5, although again I feel I am spending so much time squeezing my finger to get more blood out of it that this might be affecting the result. And I know I harp on about this but my fasting BG before my diet and exercise regime was 4.5 (venous blood sample). I feel like things are going backwards...

:) I do thicken the gravy with corn flour but barely a teaspoon for three people and there was plenty left over. The rest of the gravy is pretty much carb-free. The roast dinner was meant to be a test; definitely still more work to do.

Mrs Nuthead says I'm a syndrome. Until now I thought it was a compliment..

That's great news :). Sorry to hear it affects your friend so severely. I'm fortunate that I don't suffer so badly.

Just had a thought, I take amitriptyline at night and tho it is an antidepressant my bedtime dose is to relax the muscles to help me sleep which does help with the exhaustion side of things. Do you take your meds at bedtime?

Not on any meds.. I may have to ask when I have my next diabetic review with GP if I don't pick up soon. When I wake in the morning I feel like I've done ten rounds with Ali during the the night,

Glad to hear that. Mine was caused by my accident, took nine years before anyone diagnosed it still.
The Israeli's did a lot of research on it, some years ago and found it could be caused by major trauma.
Lots of Dr's dismissed it for years as non existent, like they did with CFS.

I blame mine in part on a fall in front of Holyrood House. Started in my lower back and then just went round body like wildfire.
