Foods that you thought would spike you surprisingly dont

Started with a 6.0 this morning so thought I'd experiment with cheese on toast (white bread) cos that's all I had in. 2hrs later and I get a 7.0 reading. To say that I used white bread, not too bad.
I'm gonna have the same tomorrow and see what readings I get then.

Sorry for delay answering. Been busy this morning...as for any of these foods. We are all different. Test eat and test ...what one person can eat another cannot...I can't go near potatoes esp jacket ones. But a roastie or 2 small I'm fine

Be interesting to see what this 91g carb pkt blue cheese and broccoli risotto does to me. Had a senior moment when I bought them forgetting about carbs in rice. Bought Online so couldn't read the packet

Okay, wise people, explain this to me.

I repeated my breakfast from yesterday, porridge and a mandarin orange.

Fasting: 5.9 (higher than yesterday)
1 hour: 5.3 half hour of exercise in there
2 hour: 6.6 or 6.2 take your pick
2.5 hour 5.2

Mostly I am surprised at the precipitous drop between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Edit: I decided to retest a few minutes after I posted and got 5.7. That makes more sense and is still quite satisfactory.

On a side note, I bet I'm not the only one not to think of retesting if I like the first number. I was quick to retest the 6.6 but quite happy to accept 5.2.

Went late night Christmas shopping last night and ended up having something to eat which looked suspiciouly like chicken breast wrapped in cheese and bacon, chips and BBQ sauce Didn't test before eating but did when I got home about 2.5 hours later and it was 6.7. My readings are usually in the 5s so I'm assuming this was a good result.

I make a cheating lasagna.... I made it the other day and used more mince than I would normally and full fat creme fresh And the spike was under 2 for a huge piece with salad... Woo hoo.

Well if you look at my profile I don't eat pasta. Hope you all enjoy that recipe though. I do like porridge and it does spike me though and I thought it wouldn't. Cornflakes are another baddie too.
