What does insulin 188 mean? I have no idea how to decipher my results...

See your from Canada, are you not getting confused with a bg reading, as far as I'm aware there isn't an insulin called 188, unless I'm mistaken :confused:
 
Oops I should be clear. .my doctor tested a whack of things, one being insulin, my level came back as 188. What does this test show? Can it separate my own insulin vs what I inject?
 
Unsure what your referring to, was it a C-Peptide test?
 
Pass on this one, when they check creatinine levels they are checking for signs of kidney disease, just wonder if the 188 figure is your average bg readings based on your latest Hba1c (assuming your outside of the UK).

That would very much depend on what units insulin is measured in.

According to this "normal" range is

"Normal Results

Normal values are are 5-20 mcU/mL while fasting. (Note: mcU/mL = micro unit per milliliter)

Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories. Talk to your doctor about the meaning of your specific test results."

But insulin could also be measured in pmol/l a different unit called picomol per litter.

If your 188 is as I suspect, insulin measured in pmol/l then it corresponds to 27mcU/mL and would appear slightly above the normal.

But this is very much a guess.

You really need to have your doctor explain both the test and its medical significance, if any.
