Merry Christmas everyone.....4.6 for me today...HAVE a GREAT DAY!!

It's a 4.2 on a chilly Planet Breathe.

Mr B has the turkey on the oven, coming up to room temperature before he does his alchemy later on. I think (or was that hope) I just heard the soft pop of a champagne cork. Our guests are coming later this morning, then we'll all claim our prime and less prime locations on sofas, chairs and other lounging paraphernalia and the day will take shape. We'll raise a glass to absent friends and family and just take a moment to acknowledge how lucky we are.

On days like this, I don't need much to be happy, but several adults snoozing quietly after a decent repost fills the bill.

Have a lovely day everyone. Merry Christmas!

and to you AB :) You've been an inspiration to us all and me especially :)

5.8 this morning, did have a couple of small roast potatoes and a mini Yorkshire with our traditional Christmas Eve roast beef dinner. They were nice but I wasn't really craving them. Got to make the bread sauce in a minute because that's always been my job (well one of them) but I'll lay off that now.

Anyway, Merry Christmas and all have a great and peaceful day, and thanks for everyone's support since I was diagnosed in March. :)

Well......went to bed on 5.8, normally I'd be around 5 -mid 5's so really pleased after my treat of sausage roll last night, I never went beyond 6.4 all night. Woke up at 6.2, instead of my 5's but that was after a bathroom visit, after breakfast I was 5.3.
Think I will put meter out of sight now until bedtime at least. I'm having a little stuffing, a couple new roasties and maybe a teaspoon of cranberry, lots of sprouts and greens - Turkey of course!!
I don't feel as edgy after a decent post pastry result last night so may just enjoy it now! No real pudding, I have berries in sugar free jelly in the fridge if I fancy......didn't have to think of Christmas cake or pudding as neither of my girls like it and elder isn't home this year!
Right.....have a wonderful one my lovely forum folk!!

8.0 this morning, my best ever fasting measure - two weeks exactly after diagnosis. I've stopped using my SD Codefree as the results were horribly inconsistent and am now using a Bayer Contour Next which seems to be a lot better.

Am trying to be really good today - not just carbs but total Cals also, don't want to undo some of the diet progress I've made.

Ugh...8.3 this morning. Cheated big time last night. Mashed potatoes, stuffing.....etc.... Feeling crapy today..... Can't see myself doing that again anytime soon. On the positive side, got a 18yo bottle of scotch for Xmas. :-)

Back to eating low carb rest of the holidays!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mark

Merry Christmas! 7.3 this morning, mind you got up at 10.30am....well it is boxing day here. Yesterday I was really good until we got to plum pudding time and I had a small piece with cream and custard. Needless to say my bs went up.

We had a nice, but stressful holiday, on the 3rd day Ross woke with chest pains, I called an ambulance and we all went to Nambour hospital. After a couple of hours they said they did not think it was a heart attack thank god! However, they were going to keep him for 2 more hours to do another round of tests to be sure. My daughter and I went back to the hotel to get the car and so she could stay there and swim. As I am looking for a park back at the hospital the doctor calls, this have changed he tells me. Apparently Ross is having an ongoing heart attack in his lower heart and they are taking him up to have a stent put in. Ok, I am shocked, but calm, I always am when there are problems. I get up to the procedure area and wait. The cardiologist comes out and tells me they have done an angyagram and it is not a heart attack, but swelling and a virus in the pericardium muscle around the heart.......they call it pericarditis. I am very grateful. They kept him in until the late afternoon of the next day. It was wonderful relief to know he was okay.

Needless to say my blood sugars have not been great, on the first day he was in hospital I soon discovered that it is almost impossible to buy a carb free offering anywhere at 7am in the morning, that the best thing in vending machines is water and cashew nuts and that hospitals are meant to test your walking skills.

Greatest blessing in life is spending Christmas with your family and friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Anne
