Many of us will have over-indulged a little over the last few days. Can I encourage you all to get back on track now that it's the 27th December. It's so easy to extend the Christmas season right through to New Year's Day, but for those of us trying to keep our numbers tight, I think this would be taking things too far and it would be so easy to fall into bad habits and get an appetite for the carbs. I hope you will join me in saying NO to all the leftovers, boxes of biscuits and Christmas tree chocolates that are lying about the house. Let's look forward to a fit and healthy 2015.

I'm with you on this after two days of overindulgence I can't wait to get back to normal food .
Today is the return to my usual LCHF diet so we will see if bs improves tomorrow .

Haha! I just wrote on my BS levels diary "Must get back on track today!" I'm glad I'm not on my own.

Absolutely agree.

Off to a nephews 21st birthday party today, at which I will share 1 pint with him in the tankard I've bought him. Then a healthy spurt of abstinence before my new years eve race

Well said, Jiminy Cricket. Haven't had a problem with BG but scared to get on the scales.

Don't know why I bothered indulging in the Christmas 'treats' . What is so treatlike about something that makes you feel so lethargic anyway? Feeling a bit stupid for going along with the traditional Christmas food hype, so today had yogurt for breakfast and making veg soup for lunch. All choc, pastries, booze etc has been sent out to people who can comfortably consume that stuff.

Oh, and anyone really serious about getting back on track, have a look at the thread by @Jamrox, 'step into spring'.

Well I wouldn't say I'm getting back to normal food, so many to avoid, but I am getting back to what is normal for me. Two days of over indulgence but was so pleased to see it didn't affect my bs levels too much bbbut I'm sure it would if I carried on eating things which aren't good for me.

Hey ho, a couple of days' break isn't all bad I think, makes it easier to go back to what we know suits us. [we do need a thumbs up smiley in here!]

Am I happy - things can revert back to normal in my
home? You bet I am ! :joyful:

Back to my well loved and better tollerated small side plate sized portions
with more suited meals regime . YAY - Happy Days !

Tea tonight - will be a ' simples ' bacon and egg .
Less is certainly much better in my case ... ;)

I haven't over indulged in anything,:angelic: I never do and STILL the diabetes fairy waves her mischevious wand at me, :arghh: bah humbug
Good luck to everyone else:)

I'd join but will wait until the leftover rib of beef is finished if you don't mind. :) As it has no carbs, it's not going to be too problematic.

I think rib of beef sounds on track. Unless of course you will be having lots of Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, followed by Christmas pud mince pies, chocolate and brandy.

I had a couple of slices for lunch today on some rye bread with slices of brie on top. A few moments under the grill to melt the brie and it was delicious.

That does sound nice. We seem to have a lot of cheese in our fridge. It is low carb, so cheese heaven for me. Had some stilton on mushrooms. It was delicious. I am, however, vary of weight gain, so will be making a lot of individual portions of cheesy food and sauces to freeze. Otherwise, my plan to get on track could take some time.

I'm waiting until New Years day to get back on track :)

Gone mad on cheese, none of it was low fat, but it will be going down slowly on some nice garlic crackers.
Just had the customary turkey curry, though, with black rice. I've not had that rice for years,
I'll get the meter out later.

Ok, now slightly skewed by the Lime and Chilli dark chocolate my daughter just gave me. :)

Me too. Although all milk choc and biscuits have now left the house and been given away. I am enjoying a few after 8's, a little bit more homemade Christmas cake. Then new years eve a few nibbles.

I didn't go mad over the festive period so more case of just upping my game from Monday.. Going to try a few days a week of low calories as well as low carbs just to reinvigorate my metabolism a bit. So lots of soups and cauli based things I guess. Mr E is sting he'll join me but as he has several home made mince pies, a Christmas cake and enough chocolate to sink the Titanic, I'll not hold my breath.
