Lately I've been getting horrible headaches just before bed and it is still there in the mornings! I've been regular checking my blood and they are fine at the time however I've been getting a lot more hypos then normal and I am going to change my insulin as I feel the one I'm on is no longer working for me, so my bloods been quite all over the place but every night these headaches start around 8 and stay with me all through the night the morning and it causing to get not much sleep has this happened to anyone else? Will it go once I change insulin? Does anyone know what may be causing it?

Hi Stephanie,

How long have you been on your current insulin regime and if your BGs are normal then what makes you think it is no longer working for you?

As to the headaches specifically, are you sure that nothing else has changed, say in your diet? Are you drinking enough fluids, not getting dehydrated. Anyway it could be down to something more simple like eye strain? Just thought I'd ask as I'd expect meds to cause more constant problems and not come on about 8 every evening, but you never know!

I've been on it nearly 5 months now that's how long I've been diagnosed I want to change because I feel it's controlling me more then me controlling it, I have to be constantly eating throughout the day and if I'm not Hungary I still have to eat to cover my insulin, also I've been having a lot more hypos then usual. I've had a bit more chocolate and and drink as its Christmas which could be causing it I'm booked in for an eye test in January to check my eyes too

Well if you're going hypo, have you tried lowering your doses? (Probably a stupid question as you've been injecting longer than me?)
