Has he been formally tested for diabetes, or are you just concluding he isn't?

But, onto his numbers

When did you test? Was he hungry? What had he been doing? Had he eaten, and if he had, what had he eaten?

I'm often in the 3s, and less commonly, I've been in the 2s. In the 3s, I usually feel absolutely fine and take absolutely no action. If I feel off, and a meal is due, I'll either just distract myself until food is up, or I'll have a cup of tea with milk, which just lifts me up and I eat as normal.

I would urge you both not to be driven by the numbers you see for your husband, provided he feels fine. Non-diabetics are probably often in the 3s, but have no idea, because they don't have access to testing kit.

If he feels off, then it makes sense to put some thought into it.

What did he do after you had tested him yesterday?

That is quite low, there is a condition 'reactive hypoglycemia' that is worth having a search on here for, depending on his circumstances when he goes low.

Hi,

What is the pattern?
What times does it happen? How regularly?

There are lots of reasons for a wobble, from food intolerances to low blood pressure, as well as potential BG issues.

Can I suggest, before you draw any conclusions at all, that you test his blood, before and after food, and when he is feeling wobbly, for a couple of days.

You may spot a pattern. You may not. Normal BG is amazingly steady. And the high 3s IS normal. We all vary.

And if you are at all worried, make an appt with the doc!
