Can't eat oats as I spike badly on them... if you toast the oats and add some good scotch you can call it Cranachan? Eddie? What is the name of that horrid pud? :) I keep telling my friend Graham, it's not a pud, it's breakfast... :)

Yes you're right, it is Cranachan. Don't think I would like it with whiskey tho

b: Chia pudding thingy
l: 2chicken legs
haven't planned anything but I'm going to be late getting in so probably something like ham and cheese

B: breakfast slab. Mr B seems to be eating huge portions of this! I thought it would last much longer. Humph. Roll on the end of his low carbing!
S: working from home today, so have tanked up periodically with tea and bovril, with cream. Surprisingly ;) Not hungry at lunch...
L: savoury 9bar sprinkle thing
D: pulled pork with grated cheese. Oh yeah.:smug: With greenery.

Hmmmm .... Not heard of "savoury 9bar sprinkle thing" before ... Sounds interesting though! Is the savoury 9bar a new variety?

I got them from the 9bar website, basically all the usual seeds plus little bits of sun dried tomato and dried herbs. Lower carb than the bars, mainly cos of the savouryness. ;)
I think they're supposed to be used for sprinkles on soup and salad, but I just tip em straight down. :smug:

B: plain omelette
L: celery and celeriac soup, a Meyer lemon
D: chickpea and veg curry, asparagus with ginger, an avocado

Yesterday's food:

B - Peanut 9 bar and coffee
L - Chicken and cheese salad with olive oil dressing
D- Trout with Broccoli and a sliced tomato
S - Sugar free jelly and double cream - 2 x Heros chocolates

Made my own crustless quiche yesterday evening - usually my best friend makes me one - it looks lovely and smells amazing but unfortunately it was a bit salty - think it was the bacon I used. Next time I will use ham :)

....and is that cream with Bovril? Really? :p

Double espresso with cream...
Two mini crustless quiches, mushroom, ham and cheese..

Coconut milk shake with super greens, strawberries, milled chia, cinnamon and turmeric....
Espresso with coconut oil blitzed in the Bullet to make it creamy... lush...

Two little slices of flax bread with almond butter and green tea...
Lamb chop left over from last night..

Out for dinner at the Meat Co. tonight so fillet steak, broccoli and a salad for me... thrice cooked fries for everyone else, and I will have a few as they are cooked three times, which, I am reliably informed by my son, means much lower carbs... :)

Must be feeling better, am really hungry today....At least I should be able to taste dinner as my sinus infection is slowly disappearing... :greedy:

B: chia seed pudding thingy and coffee with cream
L: cheese, ham, salad. I felt really hungry this afternoon so I ended up buying two 'eat right' bars so I've probably scuppered by Bg, carb and calorie intake
D: beef burgers with cheesecake mediterranean veg. Some yoghurt cream and berries for after

Today, I have been mainly eating double cream. :D

B: breakfast slab
S: coffee, tea, bovril and teeccino, all with cream. And 2 peanut cookies (LC) No need for lunch. No hunger. Forgot all about food.
D: pork with jerk seasoning and stir fry veg.

Seem to have lost my desire for berries and cream. Very odd. Not craving anything sweet at all. The cookies were far too sweet.

B: Edam omelette
L: savoury almond muffin, creamy, coconutty decaf (was cold to the bone at work :coldfeet:)
D: ratatouille with some kidney beans and cauliflower cheese

Breakfast poached egg, bacon, mushrooms
Lunch chicken and ham veg broth and a hot sausage from deli
Snack decaff soy latte and sq chocolate
Dinner lamb spinach ready curry , onion bajhia and 1/2 poppadum after evening course

B 9bar with coffee and cream
L home made crustless quiche with a small salad
D mincemeat with peppers, mushrooms, and celery in a homemade Tomato sauce
S sugar free jelly and cream and two mini bounties from a box of chopschops

Quick update on my hba1c result this morning. Last week when my bloods were taken, the label printer in the surgery was not working and the staff were in a flap about it. Today, they have two sets of results with my name on it and don't know which one is mine! It is either 34 or 59. (Last result was 38) I know which one I would prefer! They are inclined to think I am the 34 and the patient with the missing results is the 59, but they have to redo the test to be sure. Results next week. Will probably come back in triple figues due to the amount of husky bread I put away at the weekend

Today I will be eating exactly the same as yesterday btw :)

Hi @lizdeluz what's your chia seeds and almond milk dessert?

Sorry not to reply sooner, I got sidetracked and I reckon there have been lots of replies about chia seeds. They were new to me and I experimented a bit with a recipe in a Christmas prezzie cookery book, (not for diabetics but for vegetarians). I soaked some chia seeds with a pinch of salt overnight in the fridge in unsweetened almond milk, next morning added my usual mantra of 'toasted flaked almonds, vanilla and cinnamon' and 10 blueberries. Not at all sweet, but cool and mild and a bit like rice pudding, and a variation on my usual full fat Greek yoghurt breakfast. The recipe suggested serving with a mixture of stewed raspberries and prunes. I don't like the word prune, but I love plums so I'm not being very logical dissing prunes. I guess they're high carb though, so I'd only have half a teaspoon of this fresh jam idea. I think grated 90% chocolate and whipped cream would be a great topping for this as a dessert.
