Brunch: Edam omelette, creamy decaf
Dinner: all this talk of cheese sauce today...I had cauliflower cheese laced with button mushrooms and veggie frankfurters
Pudding: chocolate chia pud with cream, almonds and a big strawberry

I have a big pot of random veg soup on the hob in preparation for the big freeze tonight. My workplace will be Baltic tomorrow so I plan to take a big flask of soup and wear all the clothes I own. All of them o_O

Sounds yummy I love cauliflower cheese but have never been able to make a good cheese sauce without using flour or cornflower as a thickner

Hi Annie, nowadays I make cheese sauce without cornflour... Ooh I don't faff around with scales either

If I buy 300ml tub of double cream, pour half of this into a saucepan, add a couple of heaped tablespoons of Philly, add handful of strong cheese, bit of mustard. Heat through and whisk until thick and smooth, pour over par boiled veg... Bake for about 20 mins until bubbly and golden brown.
Divine

Looking for something to perk up a decent basic steak/pork chop meal I picked a pack of these in Tesco:

There are 3 flavour ways, as far as I can ascertain; blue cheese, a three cheese and sundried tomato, basil and feta options. I don't have the nutritional information for all varieties, but the blue cheese option contains 1.9g per portion. The ingredients list includes breadcrumbs, and of course the caramelised onion, but I found I didn't want a whole portion to myself.

The blue cheese variant was absolutely bang packed with flavour, to the extent I didn't want to eat a whole portion. I just had about a third. But, they can be frozen, and feel like a useful freezer option for when perking up is required.

The packs are 2 x portions for £1.00.

Edit:: Ooooops,.... BIG picture!!

Nurse just phoned to say the result of my replacement hba1c is 39. (Remember they mixed up the labels on the first test with another patient). So the result has gone from 34 to 39 in one week? Is that even possible?

What is really peeing me off is that I logged into my medical records online last night and discovered that the other guy's blood results (hba1c of 59) have been entered on my records! His chol and everything. Spoke to nurse about that this morning and she says she doesn't think they can do anything about that. ***? So anyone looking at my file will see my hba1c and creatinine levels skyrocket (showing creatinine from 56 to 70 in a year when the real figure is 56 up to 57) Of course they can do something about it. I am being fobbed off with **** like "you are still within the healthy range" The fact is that these are not MY results so have no place on my records.

[/rant over] :(

Is his name on the results?
If so, they have a data protection issue that could result in a fine.

I bet they would sort it out quickly enough if that is mentioned!

His/her name is not shown. Nor his meds/BP etc. Just the blood results. My graphs are all over the place now. Nurse says the results are entered from a centralised lab or something so she doen't think they can be changed. Rubbish. I'll give it a week then unleash my wrath :jimlad:

Absolutely.

Someone, somewhere, acts as the system admin for whatever computer system they store the records on. That person can sort it.
With sufficient motivation.

That's so wrong

Can you speak to practice manager today and get them to put your correct details on your records?

Of course something can be done about it!! What if they'd entered someone with HIV or cancer on your medical records? Insurers can request information so I'd be writing to the practice manager and demanding it is amended.
I know that the HbA1c test is heavily weighted to the last week or so but that does seem quite a lift.

AS - It really is simple. In my view they are in breach of the Data Protection Act: https://www.gov.uk/data-protection/the-data-protection-act

There are 8 principles, and I see they are breaching on at least 3 of them in my view:

If you need or want help with your complaint, let me know. For eons, I worked in areas where we were governed by these principles, and there are some words you may want to use. I believe in your practise the senior partner will be accountable for everything held on your records, if it has been entered by his people, so a note to the Practise Manager, requiring an amendment within, say 28 days, should do the trick. I would ensure the Senior Partner knows of your displeasure.

Should they say they are unable to amend the records, then the Information Commissioner's office will apply the heat where required. The penalties for non-compliance and/or failure to remedy can be quite brutal.

Hi
This morning was a new start for me! Instead of the usual oat bran and milk (which seems to spike sugar), I had a 0% natural yoghurt, and added some blueberries, raspberries and walnuts! Then a coffee...

Have no strips to test for couple of days but I'm sure it's going to be better! :)

Thanks guys x. I needed a rant. I am not sure who inputs the results. I access my info via http://www.mydiabetesmyway.scot.nhs.uk/ which is a record of all my diabetes stuff. But it also contains info that comes from the surgery such as my meds going back years - before diabetes. It is a tool to track your progress. Your progess - not some randomers.

I was also miffed that I had been fobbed off last week about my cholesterol. For my original test I had fasted for 12 hours as I believe that is required for an accurate lipid profile. When I was told the results were mixed up and I needed it redone there and then, I argued that I was not fasted. She said it didn't matter and took the blood. I think it does matter so brought it up again today. She said I was welcome to come in again to have it done fasted, but I am too scunnered now so declined. Would probably end up with the janitor's results anyway so what's the point?

From 34 - 39 in a week does seem a bit extreme. It's not like I was scoffing wedding cake all week ***. I will ask my big brother about result tolerances next time I see him. He should know this stuff.

I will give it a week to be resolved, calm down, then go to the Practice Manager and complain about data protection and general stuff about pish-ups in breweries etc. Thanks again for all the info and support. You guys are great x

I seem to recall you had an infection at some point recently.. Maybe enough of the good results at the other end dropped off to be replaced by some poorer ones because you'd been poorly at this end if that makes sense.. It is very heavily weighed to the last week and the preceding three weeks after that.

Hi Advocado Svenfold, if you really feel strongly about this, put it in writing to your doctor/surgery so that at least the letter will appear in your file even if they don't physically change the results.

Hopefully, it won't be too painful getting things sorted.

If you do have to resort to a formal, written complaint, I'd urge you not to labour on the additional requirements for storing sensitive, health data, as what that actually means (in terms of the Act) isn't how you or I would interpret it.........

In the meantime, in your shoes, I would be inclined to put my requirements for the change in writing, including exact details of what you want removed (you could probably do that by screenshots), so that it's dealt with on a once and done basis. Also, then if it isn't actioned, you have a complete record of what you have asked for, which can only strengthen your case.

It's all a bit rubbish for you.

(Haven't heard the word scunnered for a looooong time. :) It's such an expressive word.)
