Hi all,
After having had a few issues with my levemir I finally got to see a consultant today who overuled my DSN and said Tresiba would be a good idea for me to try.
What a difference a good consultant makes. We had a really good chat regarding my insulin regime. I'm currently taking one dose of 4 levemir units once a day and she was surprised my basal doses were so low. I've been diganosed 2 years in April and so she doesnt think I am still in the honeymoon phase.
She has sent me for a c peptide test....... is it possible I'm not type 1 after all? I'm not overwight (85kg and 5ft8), lost a lot of weight and had a glcuose reading in the high 20s when first diagnosed which is why I was put straight on insulin as a type 1.
Either way i'm really please I've manged to get Tresiba and see what happens when my test results come back.
Just wanted to update you and say thanks for the support to my previous "I'm bleeping furious rant" about the uselessness of my DSN!
Andrea
