hi,i would like to find out if the person leaving with HIV is at risk of getting either type1 or 2 diabetes and whats the reason behind that.

Some of the antivirals that are prescribed increase the risk of a diagnosis of Type 2 but you have to consider that you need these drugs. Usually, the frequent blood tests that a person with HIV has include cholesterol and blood sugar testing. Plenty of research is going on and there are some articles here worth reading,

Thank you for inspiring me to post my story on the forum and how I won a Diabetes.UK Inspirational award. If you hadn't posted the question about HIV and the risk about of diabetes. I wouldn't have posted my story. I've had seven responses so far and they ave all been positive and Kurt has contacted me and asked me tot do an interview which is going to be posted on the blog.
