Hear, hear...Ahh.. .Thank you kaz! It really does seem to have been so easy compared to previous years doing low cal low fat etc, I'm with you on having diabetes to thank in a way as had I not been diagnosed I wouldn't have found this wonderful forum and learnt so much!!
It sounds as though you are doing everything right!Good Morning and good news
FBG: 4.6!!!
Well chuffed me!
However too many variables are different today to know exactly which one triggered the numbers:
- I got up earlier than usual (my husband woke me up at 5:40) I thought it was later so I measured immediately (before leaving the bed)
- I tested after going down stairs and starting the day as I usually have measured previously... it was 4.8. (So I will stick to the 4.6)
- I had an evening snack of: 2 portions of dairylea cheese triangles, some walnuts, 2 strawberries, 2 big topped tablespoons of Chia seed pudding.
- My BG before going to bed and right after eating the snack was 4.7
- I did 40 min brisk walk on the treadmill at the gym (first time)
I have the feeling it was mainly the exercise, in combination with the early morning testing.
Other things I've been doing differently: I had some cinnamon before the walk as I heard it helps burning fat. I have been drinking lots of green tea over the last few days. My diet is ketogenic at the moment.
I noticed though, that I was hungry both before the evening snack and this morning. I had breakfast within 30 min of waking up. I decided to divide my breakfast in two today (as I have woken up early) and see how that goes.
I'll tell my son you called your poorly chest 'grumpy'... it will make him laugh... when he was young he used to say his chest was 'gruttling and wheezling'...I can do hot water bottle covers but don't know about putting pictures on them. Could give it a try after doing the four projects i have got. Next is two bears for a friends wedding in May.
Just tested and 6.6 happy with that considering stupid chest is been grumpy :-(
Hi susikav, try lidl's german darkgolden linseed bread,( biona organic) 3.9g of carb per slice, it works for me!I discovered smoked pork sausage the other day too! Have you tried making a loaf from almond and flax? I know it's not 'bread' but it's good to pile stuff on and is good toasted too... There is no ordinary bread that's not full of 'sugar' I think... ColdEthyl eats spelt toast in the morning, but not everyone can - it spikes me alarmingly... or rather, it did last year... I haven't tried it since but I wonder if, after a while, you can add a slice without too much spiking? Do you become more tolerant as you progress with low-carbing? Anyone have any ideas?![]()

7.2. Two weeks into finding control. Down from the 14s. Wish I could get down to the 5s. I am low carbing. Hope I can stick with it.
