Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

4.5 this morning. Post-dinner reading was 5.5. That's an ideal number as even with the 10% on a Contour machine it still puts me just under 5.

5.6 this morning after bedtime of 5.6....so stayed flat, I had a teaspoon of peanut butter with my usual carb free hot chocolate, think it keeps Mr liver content!

More shenanigans from my batch 44 this morning. A lovely spread between 6.1 and 7.4 :arghh: I was only 7.0 on diagnosis over 12 months ago and my averages over 3 month periods since I started testing have been 6.0, 5.7, 5.6 and currently 5.5. My Accu-chek gave me 5.8.

Bedtime 6.1 (accu chek 5.5)

I sometimes dream about the sea, very enjoyable dreams,it's meant to be a sign of calmness and serenity (depending on how choppy the water is!). Have to admit I have these dreams mostly when I've been looking at holiday brochures!

I remember vividly dreaming a lot about the sea and being in helicopters when I spent a month in ICU in an induced coma on a mechanical ventilator for 4 weeks. When I got out I found out the ICU and A&E were next to the helipad. So you do dream and take in external stimuli in a coma. Weird or what ?

I think it's because you are feeling 'all at sea' at the moment.
Dealing with the 'D' and waiting for the 'seas' to settle, waiting for the LADA or Type 1 diagnosis.
Trying to get the diet right, all this learning and experimenting.
Trying to find 'calm seas' so you can land and get your feet back on the ground ;)
Just my 5penny worth :angelic:
Yes and on the flip side, I also experienced horrible dreams involving the sea, like feeling as though I'm drifting and not in a good place (strangely, this was 6 months prior to my diagnosis). Thankfully mine are nice ones these days, but as you say, I guess it depends how you feel in the dream and it's reflection on conscious emotions. Very interesting things, dreams!

Sorry to stay off topic with the dreams discussion, but since buying a house that needs some work, I mostly dream about finding new rooms to the house I didn't know existed, or things going wrong I've been worried about! Last night I was dreaming about fences falling down! Interesting...

Not weird, it's your mind trying to process everything I think :)
They kind of shut you down big time with meds in the ICU, morphine etc and Propofol (a white coloured liquid called The Milk of Amnesia by staff as it is a general anaethetic). I had ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Respiratory Failure), can be quite fatal (20%-50% mortality). Long haul recovery and septicaemia to boot which started it off.

Yeee you finallyhad the tests done :-) Hope you don't have too much bruising
Not sure about bruising, plaster still covering, but it was done very gently with a butterfly needle by a for once caring Dr.

Thanks for asking, now awaiting results on Friday & see if my efforts so far have been worthwhile.

Woooohoooo!! Despite testing raspberries again for dessert last night, and having a tiny sliver of quiche with thin pastry, my bedtime reading was 7.2 and my fasting reading was ..... drum roll .... 6.1!! First time ever I have been below 7s and almost into 5s!!

An hour later pre-breakfast I was 6.8 and 2 hours after breakfast 5.8!

Oh, and my snowdrops are all flowering and I have a daffodil flowering and loads of buds. The resident blackbird keeps diving into the ivy bush with twigs in his beak... (BTW, I live in Scotland, so it's even more amazing!)

This is going to be an awesome day for me. I wish all of you a similar one.

Congrats to all those with good figures, and commiserations to those who are not so happy with theirs.

I lost most of my snowdrops because of the wet ground down here last year.
We didn't flood but everywhere around us was under water for months and months. So I think the ground was saturated, even without flooding,
Wish I could have crocus, but the squirrels just treat them like I've planted them for their own personal buffet :banghead:
It feels like spring is just round the corner, can't waite.
I think spring is the best time of year, I miss Hampshire in the spring
