Falafel recipes please?

Falafels are made from ground Chic Peas so you could make your own and add chillie flake and a sprinkle of cumin if you like them spicy

Yes that's what I want to do, and why I'm asking for a recipe. If it was just a case of ground chick peas and a couple of spices it would be hummus, not a falafel..

Main problem is that the majority of these recipes ARE Americans and Americans sometimes have problems conceiving that there is anything outside America (except perhaps Mexico to the south and Canada to the north!)
While in the UK you cling to your weird measurements like ounces, pounds, pints and stones. Ever heard of the metric system? At least a cup is a quarter of a litre and thus easy to handle.

It's what you know. To us imperial measurements are easy to handle.
And we do use metric here too. Just not 'cups'.

Well I just use my mini grinder and grind chick peas add cumin seeds and chilli flakes, shape into small cakes with spoons and shallow fry in butter, hubs and son love them.

Anyone have a tried and tested low carb recipe? I ordered some Cauldron Foods Falafel and although they're very nice they are very small and 12 carbs each, so hoping to be able to make some myself. I've found the caulie one on here but don't really fancy it. And please, preferably not an american recipe as I never know what a cup, or half a cup of something is
Hi @rowan - I use this one but admit haven't made these since doing lchf. I worked them out as approx 4.1g cho each - so would have 2 with a big salad for lunch! I used Waitrose chickpeas. It definitely needs salt & lemon juice which I added. I guess you could omit or substitute the flour. HTH ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1424560499.594563.jpg

Thank you, they look good! Would change the flour to almond flour but everything else look fine, will definitely try them :)

Good stuff. Yes I wondered about using almond flour instead. Defo needs the salt & lemon juice. My 2 kids love them! Enjoy!
