Well it's easy, let me try to explain. As you rightly said it is coffee whisked with butter or coconut oil. Now if you were a bullet would you want to go anywhere near it? NO...............................hence the coffee is bullet proof.:D
How about I try to explain Einstein's theory of relativity next?
I am sure your posts help to keep my numbers down Adrian... laughing uses a lot of energy... thank you...

I think I'll let someone else explain this as I'll probably get it wrong again.:D But i think it has something to do with a male cauliflower and a female cauliflower......................I could be wrong.:D
:hilarious: Well spotted....

So far my multi flaked/seeded/fruity cereal wth soya milk, flat 5.1 pre and post, lunch as yesterday reheated in butter. Tea will be roast beef, sprouts and well buttered charlotte potatoes mmmm
Snacks 1/3 no sugar mint choc bar, alpro coconut yog, slice of beef. No cheese or eggs for TWO days - had been hammering it a bit......
I don't know how you get away with it all... :( Just a piece of almond bread and goat's cheese is putting my numbers up... sigh... it must be the chuffing builders... How come you start off by really liking the cheerful little chaps and end up hating them?

Nope, that's not the name I'm looking for:(
You don't mean ruffles, do you... an absolute nightmare to iron.... seersucker - that vile American textured fabric? No... crushed velvet? How far back are we going? Poplin? Bri-nylon...:eek:

Go on then.......
It's actually both... a tsp of coconut oil and a tsp of butter.... I like salted but I have no BP issues at all... :)

Yay, that's the one. Thank you Jan:D:D
Yep, of course... but you're not seriously thinking of going back there, are you... Just think what you'll look like? You'd have to grow your hair and wear flares... :D

After my initial sharp intake of breath, I then drifted into a virtual world where doughnuts are allowed and decided I would choose the one with yellow and red hundreds and thousands on top! Followed by the one with caramel drizzled over...........

It feels like so long since I had a doughnut, I had actually forgotten how to spell them!

:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
:)

D. Hubby cooked fillet steak, pepper sauce, asparagas, butternut squash chips and peas, served with a couple of glasses of white wine ' yum! Bs post 2 hour 6.4 so not too bad :) x
Fantastic... you had a lovely day... :)

I'm pretty certain in Thailand last year they had a liquid form of coconut oil because they were in tall glass bottles, unless it was the cream, going back again in July hopefully so will investigate more and try to bring some home :)
It was probably liquid because of the temperature... it melts very easily and sets again just as easily... I picked up my first lot in Cyprus of all places, imported from Thailand, and it was liquid - imagine my shock when I looked at it after it had been in air-conditioning for a bit and it was solid and white!! :) I have never seen it permanently liquid, but I haven't been everywhere... :)

Blueberry smoothie
Bacon and eggs
Rump steak, flat mushrooms & peas (didn't count them but more than the 24 odd!)
Few pieces of honeydew melon (will test after, not sure) maybe a fat bomb.

Went to see the doctor who did op this morning and he is very pleased with progress so far, stitches even taken out after only 6 days, wasn't expecting that. 2 week wait to find out if radiotherapy needed, he did comment my wife is strange (already knew that) in as much as he has never seen a tumour like this attached to the salivary duct or the size of the duct (too big) we even got photos of the tumour & operation in progress but thought to gruesome to post in a food thread :)
Sara says thank you for all the kind messages, we have both been blown away with the amount of good support received lately, makes you surprised at how much kindness there is out there!!
Candles and prayers ongoing... but it sounds encouraging... good luck... :)

B - veggie frittata
L - smoked mackerel and salad
S - 2 pieces of dark chocolate and 8 walnuts
D - shepherds pie with cauli mash and green beans
Perfect!! :)

I would have tested too, but have run out of strips. I really didn't want the chapati, it just felt odd not to - I'll get more confident about these sorts of things as I get more practice! My poor friend couldn't get the hang of it, although she was really supportive and didn't want to order anything I couldn't share. But she offered me popcorn, ice cream and chocolate at the cinema afterwards!!
:happy::happy:

I don't have any excuse! I'm just eating too much cream and yoghurt, but it's something of a comfort for me at the mo so I'm loath to give it up :-(
I think it's too much quick cheese and prosciutto to be honest... I eat goat's yoghurt.... I just feel miffed that I don't eat much and I never get any thinner really... :) Have to make time to eat properly...

Try the Alpro soya ones. There's plain, plain with coconut or plain with almond. The fruity ones are off limits carbs-wise tho.
My tummy doesn't like soya... :( I like the CoYo ones though... :) Too much... :)

Hello all.

@poshtotty I am both shocked and utterly unsurprised at your letter from the dietician.
@Weird Science glad to hear your wife's op went well - fingers crossed for a swift recovery.

Me yesterday:
B: 2 boiled eggs, coffee with cream
L: at a friends house, smoked salmon and ham, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, bit of avocado and carrot.
Snack: at about 5pm I was properly hungry (insufficient fat at lunch, I think) so ate some almonds and pistachios and 2 small falafels (the ones allegedly under 1g carbs per serving but with no indication of what a serving is. I hope it's "a falafel" and not "a quarter of a falafel" but it's under 4g per 100g so should be fine).
Dinner: mince with veg and (randomly) olives in (MIL's cooking sometimes takes an odd turn), served on white cabbage sautéed in butter and sesame oil, with grated cheddar on top.
Then another coffee with cream.

My fasting sugars have been good lately - high 4s, highest was 5.0 this morning. When I had my postnatal GTT back in Oct which diagnosed me as diabetic my fasting sugar was 6.2.
It all sounds really good.... :)

Last night tried a black n greens hot chocolate made with couple teaspoons coconut butter cream and dash sweeter. Heaven in a cup!!!

By the way, anyone tried Barley cup? Had a drink with cream. Delicious. Totally forgot to test though. ....
Hot chocolate sound lush... What's Barley Cup? Barley sends my numbers through the roof, as do all grains... Does it have barley in it?

Susi, I can't drink coffee, it makes my stomach do somer- saults! :sorry:
How sad... :( You can do the same with cacao powder and sweetener to make lush hot chocolate though... I don't drink black tea, ever, so have to have something... :) I drink green, white and ginger teas though... I'm going to invent my own green chai tea as soon as I get time... it smells so good when the black version is brewing... :)

yesterdays food

B... Green smoothie made with unsweetened almond milk, cherries, few frozen red grapes, handfuls of spinach and kale, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, chia seeds :)
L... Chickpea flour pancake, with salad
D... Cauliflower, leek and cheese bake
S... Pear
Perfect.. :)
