Hey guys I know this question is a little off the beaten track but then again it may not be ,! Won't unless I ask ,
Okay I a few weeks ago and again now keep getting what I can only decribe has a intense hot flash in my head and even my hands I mean they just start to burn up and go bright red and buy do I mean red .
I have also noticed my temperture is going up and down, now I am back and forth to the Drs but they are useless to be honest .
I have asks about the menopause and they say they don't think it's that and my bloods show nothing but I have never had as far has I know my hormones checked when I asked the Dr she said they don't do that ...
I am just clutching at straws but this is getting me. Down today I woke up with a bit of a temperture but then it was okay off I went about my day and stood in a shop and felt the heat hit me looked at my husband who said you have gone bright red !!! I wanted to stick my head in a bucket of cold water that's how hot it felt .
I guess this is one more for the lady's but I am 45 ( just lol) and I don't have periods because I had the Marina coil fitted years ago due to heavy uncontrolled bleeding . Thing is I do still get uncontrolled bleeding just not a cycle I can talk of if that makes sense.
I know it can't be an infection because it's happening too often if that makes sense I wake up drenched in sweat .
But I am just getting my head around the diabetes so any advice would be nice and again sorry it's off the beaten track but I guess I am willing to try anything to cool my head.
I just don't understand why my Drs are not able to check if it's the menopause they have taken enough blood from me.
One odd thing is my CRP has been raised for a few years but they don't seem worried.

Years ago, when I was your age, my GP was adamant that I hadn't hit the menopause even when I explained I was getting hot flushes and night sweats. He did do a blood test, but according to him everything was normal. My husband insisted I should get a second opinion and what a difference that made. The new Dr took blood and called me back for the results. He looked at me and said "you poor soul, you must be feeling terrible". My hormones were apparently off the scale, so it was HRT for me and what a difference that made. What on earth the original Dr was looking at, I don't know. Anyway, I'm now off HRT, but getting the tail end of the menopause, flinging the duvet off at night when I suddenly feel hot and grabbing it back a few minutes later. At first I thought it was a sign of an oncoming hypo, but my bg levels were good. I suggest you get a second opinion as it does sound like the menopause rather than diabetes related, but obviously I'm in no position to diagnose, I can only recount my own experience. Just out of curiosity, what's CRP?

There is a blood test that can be done ....suggest a different GP ....Your CRP you are talking about ...has infection been ruled out ...lots of people have raised CRP levels ...but cause not found ....which is a pain of course ...
The sweating is awful ...make a list of everything and take to your GP ....you could consider saying how disabiltating these symptoms are making your life ....sorry to hear you are experiencing this ....keep going with the medical profession to get answers ...or a hospital referral to gyni consultant
Good luck ...best wishes ..Kat

Thank you so much I had the same reply from my Dr she said my hormone levels were fine but I am going to ask another one I think because this is no fun.
Your CRP is C,reactive protein in is pretty much a marker in our blood that can show infection but mine has been raised for a few years and they say they are not concerned .

You can also ask , if there is a Dr in your practice more skilled in hormone problems ...
I have also heard that the HRT patch is proving good for some ...you really don't have to suffer ...it is a battle gettng heard at times ,,but please dont give up ...

Thank you Kat to be honest seeing you say that your CRP can be raised and not be a concern has reassured me because I thought my Dr may have just been passing me off with that .she said the same thing she said some Dra don't use the CRP because it's raised in some people and that's normal for them and mines been like it for a few years.
I am just at my wits end and feel so miserable I am disabled anyway with Osteogenesis Impervecta ( brittle bones ) this I was born with and to be honest it hasn't been a huge issue in my life but now I feel so unwell my bones are starting to let me know about it.
I am going to try another Dr .
I have so much going on at the moment health wise and so many unanswered questions .
I truly beleave that having the Marina coil fitted must have some effect on my body because at the end of the day it is impregnated with progesterone.
But again they say only 2 percent of it is released into your blood stream so it can't be that .
Lol right now I just want to stick my head in a cold bucket.

My hair is thinning too and that is really upsetting has my hair was my pride and joy xx oh I am a happy soul x sorry

Hormones are awful things , I do think there will be a DR out there to help you , woman suffer so much , but there is also so much that can be done ,
It may be a bit trial and error for you ,,but you will get there....
Having brittle bones and hrt might be a problem ...but only blood tests will answer that I guess ...
Raised CRP is from personal experience ...take care ...kat

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and put on a three year course of Didronel which strengthens the outer bone, but of course cannot replace the honeycomb inside as that's gone for good. Being put on HRT meant that my bones were protected. If you go down this route, ask for patches not tablets. The tablets are double the strength of the patch as 50% of the ingredient is destroyed by the liver. The patches bypass the liver and don't have the side effects of the tablets. I sound like an advert for HRT ! Last year I was alarmed at my hair loss and got quite depressed. To this day, I'm not sure if it was the high bg levels or stress, but the hair loss has now stopped. My bg levels are now within the normal range and the stress is greatly reduced. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to mention certain products, I may well get my knuckles wrapped and this entire reply deleted, but here goes. I use Pantene Breakage Defence shampoo and Pantene Repair & Protect conditioner. They probably don't make a scrap of difference, but I'm sticking with them:) All the best.

Thank you for sharing that Kat it really worried me so knowing there is someone else with a raised CRP all the time is a comfort if that makes sense.

Thank you I will give them a go I will try anything Hun x I feel so unattractive . My diabetes seems to be moving in the right direction my HbcA1 was 74 on diagnosis it is now 32 .
I do worry about the effect on my bones but I do feel a little more positive after talking to you lovely guys and I thank you for that I really do.

sometimes when you have the levels checked keep a note of them , good to look back on ...
When you see a good health practitioner about your hormones , perhaps you could mention CRP levels as well ...
