Usually a spike of 2 or less in two hours is OK but, as it's rice which is quite carby, I should test when you have it again so that you can be confident that the lowish spike was not just a one off.Hi
I have some rice, vegetables, canned peanuts and salted pickles for lunch today. It is some chinese meal. Before lunch it was 4.8. 1 hour it was 7.6 2 hour it was 6.6 3 hour it was 5.5. Is the spike ok?
Hello again, nice to hear from you. Your bs numbers are reasonable by anyone's standards and VERY good considering your limited choice of food and time to prepare it. Well done. Keep experimenting and I'm sure you'll work something out.
Thanks Deejayr.I will keep experimenting. But i have not eaten noodles, cakes, chocolates since last nov. I missed them so much.
I tried 85% dark chocolate but couldn't take the bitter taste. I have seen some breakfast choices like bacon ,scrambled eggs, cheese for breakfast , but I have no time to prepare it. My breakfast is usually only 1 slice of wholemeal bread but recently I had added peanut butter to it.
but the readings is not very good. For today, Before breakfast was 4.8, 1 hour was 6.0, 2 hour was 7.3. Sometimes 1 hour was 7.0 2 hour About 6.0 and 3 hour about 5.5-5.8. My fasting bs is usually in the range of 4.5-5.0.
Hi Andbreathe, I have saw in other threads about the 9bar but I think the place I am living in do not have it. Besides no time to prepare, actually after I was diagnosed, I was depress most of the time. I did not feel like doing anything.what type of cheese and bacon do you eat? I usually eat nuts for snacks after dinner. Tried Greek yogurt trice before but I couldn't take the taste.

I think that we are in danger of sending mixed messages to newbies. Whist I agree it would be ideal to have your BS the same both before and after eating for many, me included, it will not happen and a rise of 1.3 could be considered acceptable and quite good.Sorry, that's quite a big jump and 8.8 is more than I would be comfortable with, and after 2 hours I would want my bs to be back to normal. If it was me I'd stop eating bread unless it's a small loaf of low-carb. It seems to be difficult for you to find alternatives but keep looking. Can you make substitutes like almond flour cheese bread? Can you eat/get eggs?
