Sugar free soft drinks / mixers with NO ASPARTAME!

Sugar free drinks labelled as 'Zero' don't contain aspartame, just sucralose.!

Wherever did you get that idea from? It's not true, Coke Zero has aspartame, so does
Tesco Lemon And Lime Zero,
Tesco Mango Zero (in fact all Tesco Zero drinks),
Fanta Orange Zero,
Sprite Zero,
Dr Pepper Zero,
and no doubt plenty of others. Easy to check.

No, as explained above, I won't be making my own.

OK, sorry - I apologise - I missed that specific post (slap wrist !)

So, understanding that you aren't able to 'make' your own, how about 'mixing' your own

Using carbonated water as a base (Tesco, ASDA all stock it very cheaply) how about adding some Lemon Juice for a no-sugar lemonade. If you like ginger beer you can buy - bit difficult to find admittedly - Ginger Syrup (try a specialist cooking / chefs suppliers)

Other alternatives could be lime juice, lemon & lime together or maybe one of the nice cordials by 'Bottle Green', a weak Elderflower spritzer would go well with some of the 'peatier' single Malts

I used to have a lot of Bottle Green drinks before I gave up sugar, but no more. And I hate ginger. And Whisky ;)
I've got the Morrisons sugar and aspartame free lemonade and tonic water, so with sliced lemon or lime that's the voda, pimms and gin sorted. Just the barcadi to sort now. It screams out for coke but never have been able to find a sugar / aspartame free cola that taste as any good so not sure what to do with that, except look at it longingly during the hot weather! ;)

Vimto zero doesn't!!

I've found a Lemon cordial this evening in Tesco's called "PLj" it was £1.99 for a 500ml bottle

Its ingredients are listed as:
Lemon juice (90%), Vit C, Natural Lemon flavour, Lemon Oil & Sulphur dioxide as a preservative

It lists a 25ml serving (though I'll use half that) as:

Carbs 1.5g of which sugars 0.4g & Vitamin C as 60mg

Will let you know what it tastes like

PLJ used to be sold as a diet aid years ago, apparently a glass of that before a meal lessened the appetite or something like that. Too sharp for me.

Went into Morrisons today and they have their own brand aspartame free tonic water and lemonade, so I got those.
I also saw a coke with green writing made with stevia, anyone here tried it?
The coke with stevie is part stevie, part sugar, best off sticking to diet/zero/max if you're drinking coke

We did the plj challenge years ago, drink a glass of plj, (man, was that sharp) and it was meant to curb your sweet tooth. Nah, we could eat meringues and Scottish tablet.

I use half the recommended serving, about 11/12 ml -- with the amount of water I drink for the Newcastle Diet and now renal colic (kidney stones !!!) anything which flavours the water but doesn't 'load' it with nasties makes for a nice change

Interesting to note on the bottle that undiluted PLj can be used in lieu of lemon juice as well

The green coke is nice. Not quite as many cals as red coke but without the aftertaste of white coke. I find them all a bit sweet now after a month detox but my preference would be green coke

I use marmite in a nut roast recipe which I am delighted to say I can still eat. Might make one tomorrow for the weekend when I eat on the run a lot.

I've just used a smidge of it for a pulled pork with home-made chipolte sauce I've made for my wife, with sauted mushrooms & onions

Practicing for when I finish the ND :D
