Night sweats

Hi, I am newly diagnosed type 1, was rushed in to hospital with keytoacidosis that's how we found out I was diabetic. I am 39 and of a healthy weight. I am getting terrible night sweats........what is this all about, apart from hot and sticky I feel fine. During the day my levels fluctuate from 4-16ish. I am on a very low dose of novo rapid 3 x day (8 units) and 16 units of lantas once a day before bed.
 
If you have checked that low blood sugars are not the cause, could it be an early menopause?

Docs tested thyroid before they would discharge me, came back all clear. I am wondering if I am not on a high enough dose of insulin as my levels are still very unstable. Thanks for reply

Have checked levels and they fluctuate but more on the high end, very rare do my levels drop below 4. I hope to god it's not the menopause just yet!!!!!!! Thanks for quick response

You are more than welcome :) Glad levels are not to bad. Best option though is to pop along to your GP so he can take some blood tests to see if a problem with thyroid as already mentioned or any other condition.
 
One of the less reported side effects of Lantus is night sweats ( when not hypo )especially if the full dose is taken at night. It's well worth a mention to your diabetes team, especially if this has only started since being on Lantus. If it happens to be the case, a switch to another basal such as Levemir will help, but you may have to push your team a little to look into the side effects, as I said, it's one of the lesser reported ones ;)

And of course, all the avenues mentioned by the other posts above should be explored too :)

I will do, seeing consultant next week. That will be first time I have seen any one since being discharged on 8th may. Thanks again

I am 41 and it could be hormonal as well? I know I have always had the diabetic sweats but now I wake up in a pool at night . Maybe your new diagnoses pushed you into perimenooause ?
 
I wake up in a pool too, bedding is wet through but I don't feel hot to touch just clammy!!! I will have to see what my consultant says and mention all the pointers that have been gratefully received. Thanks️
