Reading after exercise

Just got back from the gym, had a 1 hour hard work out weights and cardio, and tested after and hour and still 10.8. Only had chicken Salad for lunch so no carbs so did not take and insulin. Still not sure if I am type 2 on late onset 1. Surely my reading should be lower. Your thoughts please.

I quite often get a higher reading after a good workout at the gym or a jog. It only lasts about half an hour or so then goes back down.

I think it is because u have eaten very little...when you eat a little or no food at all and exercise, ketone levels rise and this increases bg levels! It affects everyone differently though

So check your levels after 30 minutes

If I do cardio in the gym and >80% max hear rate my BG increases, as it does doing weights. If I cycle on the road, my HR is usually a bit lower, and I'm into BG lowering after 30 mins and need to fuel accordingly. You just need to get to know how your body reacts to different intensity, and types of exercise.
