Evening all,
I am 24 hours in to using the new freestyle libre machine.
I am very impressed so far but I have one concern, the adhesive on the sensor.
After an average day, the tape surrounding the sensor is coming loose. Does anyone know if this thin tape is the only thing securing the sensor to my site.
I am worried that after paying £60 for the sensor, that it may fall off.
Surely this tape is not the only adhesive given the product can be used when showering or swimming.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Adam

Are you sure you fixed it properly to begin with? My sensor has been on for 10 days and is showing no signs of coming loose.

Hi June,
I fixed it as per the instructions.
Shaved and used the alcohol wipe. It seemed to be fixed well at the start but now the tape has lifted in areas.
I may be being extra catious but was keen to hear of others experiences.
Yours is obviously great.
Do you know if it the solely the tape around the sensor holding it to the skin ?
Thanks
Adam

Hi....try leaving the area to dry completely after using the alcohol wipe. That was my problem with my first few sensors, since then I find they stay on with no issues.

ive never had an issue with the sensors comming loose. I also got the medical profeissional code to get into the more advanced settings if anyone is intrested, lets you turn carbs in to CPS/set ratios and it will even tell you how much active insulin you have left in your system.

This may sound rather frank but do you sweat ?

I find that it is when I rush around it tends to raise.

I am now using it with tape over the sensor because I can't take the risk.

Mine lasted 2 weeks of being in Spain the sweat, diving in the pool, sun cream and having showers the edge had abit that wasn't stuck but it still lasted the full 2 weeks, but if you think it's coming off I just put a plaster over it.
