Hi Jackie, there are many possible answers to your question, all dependent on dosage and timing of your insulin and food, plus your carb counting.

In a well managed diabetic, I would expect that you would take both basal and bolus insulin as per normal, and not be not taking insulin (there are good reasons for this - insulin doesn't just affect the carbohydrate metabolism).

If you could share with us a little more regarding the pattern of your day and the carb counting you do around meals, we may be able to offer a better opinion on what you have encountered.

Hi, how long have been diagnosed..?
Is your job physically active?
What is your work environment with regards to temprature?

Guessing. I would say your basal lantus dose could be too high..? (If injected before bed judging by OP.)

Hi Jaylee diagnosed 13 months yes I work in shop and have a lot of shelf filling etc in summer it is quite warm in there in winter we freeze as not allowed heating have to wear coats and gloves when really cold

Lol. I worked in an environment like that when I left school. I felt like "Bob Cratchit." ;)
It's possible you are still in the "honeymoon" period, coupled with insulin sensitivity due to the recent heat? A dodgy mix.. :banghead:

I'm no doctor. Just assumption on what you give us to go on..
I agree totally with Tim though. The sooner you get a handle on the control, the better.!

My carb counting is **** Tim 2000s goin send me on a course.
That's probably where your issue lies. I suspect that your basal amount is incorrect and your Insulin:Carb ratios are also out of whack, which will be sending your blood glucose all over the place.

If you want to make a start on learning about Carb Counting, take a look at this online course. It will help you to get started on what you need to know.
