Hello forum - I'm a newby here, diagnosed T2 three months ago and no meds, just lifestyle. Really appreciate all the thoughtful and helpful advice on here that I have been reading from the sidelines. Thank you.
Today I returned to my GP for the results of bloods after three months and he confirmed my HbA1c had reduced from 87 (!) upon diagnosis, to 34 today. GP was a locum and looked at me and said you're not diabetic are you?
I was amazed as he said I was now in the middle of normal range for non diabetic HbA1c results, is that right?
The last three months have been an eye opener, and driven by all the advice and help on this forum it has made my lifestyle and diet transition so much easier. Of particular benefit has been the carb replacements, curry with cauliflower rice and spinach as opposed to rice has been a godsend. I also invested in a fitness tracker, challenging myself to surpass exercise targets and monitoring my steps.
I just wanted to say thank you to all the contributors, there will be many like me that sit on the sidelines, but we do listen and we do learn.
