Hi , does anyone experience depression when b.s. rise. I am type 2 injecting 8 units ofnovo mix 30 at lunch time

I have noticed that as soon as my b.s. rise, I feel extremely depressed. I don't need to check blood levels, although I do, and as sure as guns blood levels have risen which also confirm my sudden feelings. I am normally bubbly and happy in nature. I am worried about this change in my mood.

Off course the answer is don't let b.s. rise, but I take maintenance dose o 20mg of steroids which cause b.s. to rise.
Anyone any hints or suggestions to help get over this. I will generally pick up a bit as b.s. drop but not being my normal self

Yes, mood changes are normal with high BS @fred1234 . Many experience being a bit 'tetchy' rather than depression but it just depends on how it affects you personally.

Not much you can do about it, but being aware of it helps of course.

I get depressed often, so I don't really notice a particular link between my feelings of depression and hyperglycemia. However, I have felt moody, irritable and even tearful while experiencing hypoglycemia.

There is definitely a link between hyperglycemia and depression. Prolonged high glucose levels make you feel like **** and also your cognitive abilities become impaired. I felt very down when I had an initial HbA1c of 112 mmol/mol and was told by my DSN this was obviously to be expected. Now my numbers are at 58 I no longer feel depressed and as lethargic. It is all about good BG control and cutting down on carbohydrates. Good luck.

This may explain things! I was quite bad when diagnosed, mine were 100 mmol/mol....slight improvement in both mood and was at 85 mmol/mol, going back in a week to see if they've improved, if how I feel is anything to go by it won't be good news :/
