Dr using different numbering for tests?

I was diagnosed about two years ago but I'm constantly confused about the numbers I read on the diabetic website, my friends and the readings I get from my 6 month check at my doctors. Evidently our doctors don't use the HbA1c numbering system they use the IFCC numbering which evidently is an international numbering system. Has anyone else encountered this?
