That's excellent advice @AndBreathe, & puts the information in an easy to understand, articulate format. I'll be seeing my DNS next Friday, so I think you're right...it's time to try without the Gliclazide. I will titrate it downwards even further over this weekend & see how I go. As for weight gain being a common issue with this med...thankfully no. I continue to lose weight at a steady rate, and it's staying off. I think losing weight has improved my insulin sensitivity, meaning I no longer need Gliclazide as I did when diagnosed 6 months ago.

Your advice is very much appreciated, and always welcome.

If you have continued to lose weight, you may find when you give it up, the rate increases; which could be a bonus.

As I lost weight, my insulin resistance improved dramatically (and my numbers notched downwards). I'll be curious to observe as you near your target weight if your "feel rubbish at 4.2", or whatever the number is, improves to a lower number. I only routinely feel rubbish if I get something with a leading 2. Bonkers. But it seems my body is (bonkers).

7.2 this am but an hour overdue with metformin due to lie in and 2.5 hrs later than norm, so whilst I'm not happy about the result I can live with it .

Aside from routine, and reference to eating with food, timing of your Metformin isn't critical. Even the odd missed dose won't cause issues. Metformin is a drug that works best as it's impact builds up over several days.

Was it the sour cream again @Pasha. ;)

Morning lovely people. A reasonable 5.2 this morning. Happy with that considering I had me a few slices of pizza late last night. I was good overall....and mainly filled up on the accompanying mixed salad & pickled red cabbage. I didn't even know I liked pickled red cabbage!!! I have a craving for pickled onions, beetroot & bratwurst this morning. If I didn't know any better......:angelic:

@Alisonjane10

Not sour cream this time [ none in stock due to last lapse], but brie and pecorino cheeses in truly gluttinous amounts. Items that now must be stocked in only small amounts.

5.2 this morning :) after a panic attack yesterday sent my BG haywire.
End of term at last, and I'm experimenting with some LCHF baking today cos it's my birthday :joyful:

Edit: It's also day 100 of LCHF for me and I've lost exactly 3 stone (42lbs)!
