Type 2 I have taken the wrong insulin

Need advice please. I accidentally took 18 units of Lantus glargine (slow acting) instead of novorapid at lunchtime today. What should I do please. My normal regime is novorapid 3, 18, 16 units with food. Then lantus glargine 12 units before bed. .

Test your blood sugars frequently and have some carbs handy plus something for a rapid sugar replenishment. Do you have plenty of Lucozade, full sugar coke, fresh juice or whatever you keep handy for hypo's?

Consider getting advice from out of hours doctor if you are not happy.
 
You could ring 111 for advice and help, take care and I hope you will get it sorted out soon.

Thank you. I'll do that. Also put a call in to 111 - very helpful a doctor is going to call me. After taking insulin for so long it's very easy to make a mistake.

Rang 111 eventually a doctor called me. nTold me - no more Lantus at bedtime until tomorrow;. Test blood before eating this evening and acc0ordi8nbgly take reducede novorapid probably 6-8 units, depending. Thank you everyone for you help.
