I have been taking Metformin Sr for past 10 years with no problems .and have seen a diabetic clinic this year yet . My medication is delivered to me on monthly basis .When I received my medicines this week there was a note teling me that I have had my metformin taken away and am now on a drug named SUKKARTA . . This is causing a few problems with stomach pains and diahorea . I have tried to find out what this drug is and have looked on Netdoctor but it is not listed on medicines list can anyone tell me about this drug..

Hi, sukkarto sr is a slow release metformin according to google.

It sometimes happens that way - even though the active drug is meant to be the same, there could be something else used in this generic version of the drug that isn't agreeing with you. I'd return it to the pharmacist and ask to return to your previous brand.
